Invitation to send your PRO to Paris
To be clear - I have enjoyed my Devialet, but, I’m major league dissapointed here. At one point, a YEAR AND A HALF ago, (before I upgraded to the 1000) I looked at other amps - some much more economical - at that point the others had UPnP, AirPlay, DSD 128...etc., and sounded very close (SQ wise) to the Devialet. At this point many amps are ROON ready, support DSD 512 (or above), MQA, etc. Maybe ‘soon’ we will have a few of the functions other amps had long ago - but even these features aren’t working at this point.

What seemed like a very forward thinking product, now seems to have gone astray.....

While it certainly may be disappointing for many, and I fully understand that, I do appreciate the transparency here, certainly could not have been an easy message to write but they did the right thing by posting it.

Bear in mind that from my point of view I am quite happy with what I have now, so this is in some ways icing on the cake, the two features I am really interested in are better WIFI capabilities, and RAAT support. And in both cases both Roon and AIR3 are working great for me via ethernet.

As always, YMMV.

I would agree with Baddog... I am quite content with my Devialet Expert Pro (and Roon) and don't foresee that changing for the worse. But I am disappointed in Devialet, the company. Poor communication and lack of focus on the product seems to have taken them off course which will undoubtedly cost them some customer loyalty. Kudos to them for their openness in acknowledging the problems they are facing. In time, I fully expect them to bring the Expert Pro line back to the forefront. Until then, I will continue to fully enjoy listening to the music.

That's still to come.  The early adopters will be beta testers!

I applaud the honesty from Devialet. And look forward to getting my invitation and finally getting the board installed. The bugs that have been mentioned in the letter are not a deal breaker. Come on Devialet I check my email everyday waiting for those UPS postage labels. Please send fast... I am ready and excited to be at the forefront of this amazing new technological era. Yes indeed!!!!!

Hmm, what "amazing new technology era" are you referring to? I think I have missed something since don't see any major technology improvements in Spotify, Airplay, Bluetooth, Tidal, Qobuz, AIR, or with gigabit Ethernet connection. It looks like just some basic stuff to me.

Devialet Expert Pro in itself is a technological marvel. The sleek design, combination of class A and class D amplification, the high quality DAC inside. I have yet to manage to surpass the sound quality of my D440 Pro even with gear that cost £20K+. When a company like Devialet can make hardware like this in the first place then why all the mistrust. I shall give them a pass on the software, but you can't fault the hardware.

I understand what you're saying, and applaud your enthusiasm, but without working software the new Core Infinity board -- and the rest of the Expert series amps, for that matter -- are just very expensive paperweights.  Software is an entirely integral part of Devialet's products, and they will have to learn how to plan and manage software development properly if they are to survive in their chosen market(s).  Part of that process is to under-commit and over-deliver: more savvy/mature audio technology companies, such as Roon and Sonos to name a couple I'm aware of, have already learned that lesson which is why they very rarely commit to supporting specific features let alone within concrete timescales.
