If your read the audioforums, it looks like audio-enthusiast are looking for upgrades - or defending their best finds 24h/day. In terms of Devialet, although not supported (but still serviced) by upgrades etc. the original design is still great and capable delivering musical emotions a lot. It stopped me looking for upgrades (I wasn't looking 24/7 ;-) - but I have to be honest, I was looking for better, even there was no need for. With Devialet I regained passion in listening, still enjoying the beautifull looks every day. No other brand delivered me this kind of experience. So from my perspective, my Devialet Expert Pro is the most valuable device I've ever possessed! This is today's case and I'm convinced also tomorrows. So the Devialet Expert (Pro) is highly recommended to real audio-fanatics looking for the best upgrade...

I agree about the performances, but Devialet's 4 years of silence (the last firmware is from 2020) suggests that at least for them the product is dead; it will perhaps soon become a very good vintage.

The real strange thing is that even in 2025, Devialet keeps being ahead comparing with most of the all in one amp on the market.
Having a dsp and crossover is a must difficult, if not impossible, to find on the market.
Prices on second hand market are going down? Good news for me, if I decide to move from my D premier dual mono, to expert pro, I will save money.
In the meantime I will assist to the launch of amp, dacs, and streamers one similar to the other, being happy to be able to set my speakers and subs in the best way possible, thanks to the configurator.

I have to think that if someone is seriously looking at the Astra and like it's features, they would also consider buying a gently used Expert Pro and save a ton of money and end up with something that will likely sound as good or better than the Astra.

Prices where I live are certainly coming down. Conversely, people who advertise their Devialet amps for a reasonable price are not receiving replies or selling the items

Units that do sell are going for 40% of original retail

Lumin U2,  Valve Audio Exclaimé.  4Tb SSD.  ML Electromotion, 2 x Dachshunds - Devialet has gone

Basically, we still don't know how the Astra really perform.

If it sounds worse then Expert Pro - then it's Devialet's suicide. I really doubt it.
BTW, even without it - Devialet is almost dead.

I doubt it will sound worse but will be surprised if it sounds remarkably better.  After all, the design of the Astra is essentially based on the Expert/Expert Pro series.  Who knows... perhaps some serious engineering went into the Astra above and beyond the Expert Pro series.  That would be impressive.  But the specs and functionality that has been released doesn't seem to indicate that.  The clear difference, however, is the price.

I thought it was already in store and would have expected some sort of initial review by now.

The on-going sale of 440 Pro-CI currently in the Forum is testament that our Experts are almost valueless.
No offences to the seller & wish him best of luck with his sale.
