New firmware 8.1.3
#91
Is it possible someone send me the "8.1.3 beta" that devialet email to some users? I'm getting really curious to test this version.

For my speakers SAM set to 0% is still fat and boomy, it increases the bass around 70hz by about 7db. I can use this bug to fill some gaps but I have to use the jRiver EQ to get rid of excessive peaks. The result is now very good, but without EQ SAM would be unusable for me.
btw, no change in this behaviour between 8.1.2 and 8.1.3. And the profile for my speakers has been updated for 8.1.2 already which introduces this bass boost. The old profile was doing nearly nothing and more degrading SQ.

There is misunderstanding....My opiniom was about official 8.1.3 and comparing this to 8.1.3 firmware not available officialy but sended to some persons by Devialet. This unofficial firmware is IMO the best sounding one in my system. There is ,,body", nice timbres, musicality, simply pleasure of listening...
This is funny that unofficial firmwares are in my system better sounding than official ones.

Oh well ..... After endless weeks of firmware and configuration swapping I was finally happy with 8.1.3 (non beta). But you evil lot have set me thinking that maybe I should give 8.1.3beta a go, with my current 4GB card encoded configurations. To be honest though, I really have had enough of SD card swapping and critical listening, plus all this has genuinely sent me bonkers. I will probably end up trying this, but I think I will leave to mid August at least. We'll probably have 8.1.5 or something by then anyway.......

The pre-release 8.1.3 sounds better to me with or without SAM. With 8.x generally I find SAM a lot more subtle with my Raidho C-1.1 speaker profile. I'm not 100% sure SAM is sounding quite right with them.

I had the same problem. YOu should report that to Devialet. For me they have created a new profile. Now it is everything else but subtle...

Hello everyone,

I am now also curious to try the pre-release of 8.1.3. Anyone around here able to send it via email?

Many thanks in advance for the effort!  Smile

I must admit to being extremely curious myself. If some one could email me a copy of 8.1.3beta also, I would be very grateful.
