Problems with Core Infinity
(07-Jan-2018, 15:07)Zappydev Wrote: Hi Axel - I just looked. There was no display of the settings. Then, I used the Devialet remote to change the balance, and suddenly the display appeared. I initially wondered if the display was hidden if everything was at default or 0%, but in fact my bass boost was correctly showing +1.5 dB, so maybe it’s a little bug in Roon. The balance still displays a weird number too (251% for 5% left). I flagged that to Roon as soon as Roon AIR came along, so maybe it is supposed to be that way.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try. Smile

I'm trying to determine if I should upgrade now or wait. Does plain AIR (no Roon, CD quality resolution) work reliably with the new CI Board?

Unfortunately no, it has never worked (with or without the new CI Board). AIR always crashes my computer after listening few minutes with it.

AIR is working perfectly for me now. So, I'm more interested in the feedback of those for whom the CI upgrade degraded AIR's performance.
I'd encourage everyone who's done the upgrade to participate in the following poll:

Ok. I can't comment on AIR (because it keeps crashing all the time), but I have found Roon-AIR working quite well with the CI board. Earlier, I got crackles every now and then. But now with the CI board, I haven't noticed any crackles or white noise. Not even once. Unfortunately there are some new problems like for example:

Air WiFi (no Roon) works well (except some really short minor distortion every 20min or so with 192/24) and sounds excellent but I never got Air ethernet to work with CI!

Air WIfi works well with improved bass and mids, but one big exception: Using Tidal Hifi the app crashes quite often when I skip songs and I then have to disable and start air again.

Believe that this is another Beta version, so will need to be a "Beta Tester" to try it!
