When i use spotify connect, this is what i see. It says: “this machine only supports very high”. Loseless in spotify is named “without quality loss”.

If i use airplay in spotify it seems to work.

Yes but Airplay protocol itself is not loseless and you end up transcoding files from one codec to other etc. which means it is not ideal.

Another dream is gone… I wish we had a way to force Devialet to share the source code of Expert’s software…

AirPlay 1 does support lossless audio, up to CD-quality 16-bit/44.1kHz Audio

It seems like there only are a few select test partners that Spotify supports up to 24 bits initially. According to Electrocompaniet the rest of has to wait. "While Spotify offers up to 24-bit quality, they've confirmed that the 24-bit SDK is currently limited to a few select test partners. This means most hardware manufacturers, including Electrocompaniet, are waiting for the broader 24-bitsupport rollout from Spotify."

The problem is that the SDK needs to be implemented within the Devialet firmware, which will never happen since the Expert line has been discontinued.

Here a statement from LINN streaming devices. Until now, they supported their oldest types with new firmware updates, but set the limit to 2018 now, where the actual types started with a new design of internal hardware.

LINN: September 2025:We do intend to support Spotify Lossless:.  This requires non-trivial firmware changes so we don't have fixed timescales for the work completing.   
Note that Spotify does not support lossless for all Linn hardware variants; Linn DS/DSM variants which were launched before the Selekt DSM (in 2018) cannot be updated.
