UPDATE IS FINALLY HERE!
#41
Has anybody had volume issues with Spotify. Using Spotify Connect a couple of times the volume slider started to zigzag (i.e. volume increasing/decreasing) and eventually went all the way to 100.

Following this link it should be available whitout, but i guess this is wrong?

Best regards Lars

I am seeing only one new device in Spotify, so my guess is that you need a Dialog.

No you don't need a dialog, I am listening on a single Phantom right now.

Awesome! And it sees a single Phantom as a playback device for Spotify, not a bluetooth/other format?

Just got home from a project. Updated the system (stereo pair) and Spark.

BRAVO!!!! Apparently I can simply fire up Spotify and play, plus control the volume instantly using the slider. My remote is also linked so that if I change the volume via remote, Spotify reflects the change.

BRAVO Devialet!

I wonder if I am the only one facing the problem that Spark for iOs is forgetting the queue whenever I close the app. Since the update before the latest one Spark sounds exactly as good as my Auralic lightning but I can't use Spark because it takes hours to build up a nice playqueue just to find out that it vanished if you are going to listen to music the weekend after. Let me add that I only listen to Qobuz and Tidal so have to build up the playqueue by copying Qobuz and Tidal queues.

With a good glass of wine. You get Nice music

Relax

Johnnydev, I am drinking my wine and relaxing.

Are you working for Devialet since you are defending the company?

NAS is the most important feature for audiophiles that is missing not Spotify!!

Here is a screenshot from December 2014 white paper.   It says "Based on the EVO platform, DIALOG will integrate more and more music streaming services natively, multichannel audio decoding, UPnP compatibility to access music from NAS devices, and much more…"

That's interesting. Thanks for your response. I have different iOs devices and I am experiencing it with all of these devices. Do you have your Spark always running in the background or are you really ending it?

I have the same issue from time to time. Last time Tidal stopped playing tracks so I've restarted Dialog to make sure that it's not the issue. When Dialog came back, my play queue was empty.

(07-Feb-2016, 13:44)sekriT Wrote: Johhnydev, there is nothing wrong with my setup because Dialog still does not offer streaming music from DLNA servers (NAS). Apparently you don't get it, so let me explain it to you.  Dialog is located next to my server and both are connected to home network. Server is running JRiver Media Center (DLNA server) and has 90k titles, all FLAC and DSD. Since Dialog cannot stream music directly from Jriver over the network, I have to have an external USB DAC which outputs in optical TOSlink to Dialog.  Streaming via USB cable introduces some noise and impurity. So I had to buy a USB filter (USB regen), a high quality USB cable and special power cable for DAC. All of this amounts to >$1000 and still would not be as pure music as if Dialog was streaming directly from JRiver using DLNA. The less interface the better! DLNA technology has been around for decades and it is quite simple protocol to use. It would not take a month for an average programmer to write code for streaming from DLNA server.  It's been more than a year since it was announced. Do you have the slightest idea what I am talking about now?  Highland98 is absolutely correct in his comments above.

I don't get why you're so upset over this. Devialet never indicated their products supports it, just that it's written in a white paper. You buy a product for their current performance and possibilities, not for possible future features I hope. Nothing wrong with Devialet, except that they are slow with new features. But that's a bonus and not standard functionality not working. You have received what you paid for, nothing more and nothing less.

If streaming over DLNA is so important, why buy a setup that doesn't support it (yet)?
