Uk price drop
#1
Great news - UK prices for the 'Expert' line have been reduced presumably to bring them more into line with those on mainland europe.  The new prices are:

120 - £3,699
200 - £5,175, Companion - £4,375
250 - £9,550, Companion - £7,440
400 - £9,550
800 - £16,990

This will obviously have a negative impact on second hand values though I'm not planning on selling mine anytime soon Smile

So, unless you absolutely intend to get to the 800, there's no point buying a 250, when you can get the 400 for the same price.  Companion 200 now looks very interesting!

That's exactly what I thought

I wonder whether Devialet will re-run their 15% off promo this summer?

If they do, PhilP, it would be almost mad not to get a 200 companion.   Looks like my speaker upgrade is postponed....

Well in some situations there is an argument for having a single chassis and the 250 is noticeably better than the 200, due to increased power but also better thermal management. And you can always get a second 250 for the ultimate Devialet.

But yes your point makes complete sense, that's probably why the 250 seems to have been dropped from a lot of Devialet's marketing materials.

At just over £4k for a Companion it's surely becoming more and more difficult to resist, I mean the performance hike is something else!

aaarghh..I feel those old but angry emotions boiling up again seeing that a 250 is just as expensive as a 400...early adopters pain...paid for a D-Premier AND an upgrade to 240/250 and could have had a 400 for considerably less! Sad

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your message.

We have had a lot of similar feedbacks lately. The remote is indeed being crowded.

The function you describe is not yet available but I do beleive that the engineers will soon implement a code so that ICM can be automatically on when you use a video function, and off when you do not.

Kind of like an auto switch.

This will probably be available via a next update of firmware 8.0, so you will of course be informed.

Best regards,

Customer Care

Many thanks for the update! As usual no indication when it will happen though I guess they are working hard with 8.0.1 to address all other issues.

/Mike

But don't forget the time you enjoyed your D Premier and then D240/250. there is a price for that.

No regrets

also, you have the option to upgrade to an 800.

for us people with 400's its simply not an option. it gives you an advantage if you ever decide to upgrade!
