Upgrade
#1
I took the « elevate » offer to trade in my D220 from 2016.

The sound from my Penaudio Cenya is more detailed, more natural. This is quite impressive to be honest.
Setup is also much improved, albeit with dangerous dependency on a mobile app.

Both digital and vinyl are improved.

Source are Qobuz/Airplay and RP10/D17x

Ok well the jump is also huge price wise. Would be interesting how the 440 Pro compares to the Astra.

Though anyway interesting to hear you enjoyed the upgrade that much!

Did you use sweet room acoustic compensation with the 220? Don't you miss it? Can you still record your vinyl via usb c? Or never done that?

I don’t do that.
Unfortunately, they did not provide native Qobuz support, I see Spotify and Tidal are available.
It’s quite odd considering the Qobuz is French too and was very early with the lossless and high res quality.

Nice, enjoy your new toy! I recommend you check out the BubbleUpnp App (Android) or mConnect (iPhone). They both can stream Tidal Max and Qobuz Hi-Rez to UPNP streamers (which the Astra should support).

This is also a good option for Expert Pro owners who are using the built-in streamer which supports UPNP.

The only downside on Expert Pro is with FLAC (used by both Qobuz and Tidal) - seek doesn't work. The workaround is transcoding to WAV/PCM - e.g. using BubbleUPnP DLNA server.

I also use BubbleUpnp for Youtube music, which mostly requires the app to transcode to WAV but also sounds great.

A bit off topic here but I had a very positive experience with Devialet's support yesterday. I wrote to the support with a question regarding SAM for my Magico S3 mkII and less than 10 minutes later they called me up on the phone.

I registered my number at Devialet many years ago but apparently they had looked it up themselves just to be able to reach me on my phone and give me a more personal response. I was very suprised and greatful.
Devialetless since 2023 after ten years...

Has there been any indication of what the 'upgrade' pricing will be moving from Expert Pro to Astra?
