And the 2way remote capability.

This is what I asked them, I recommend you to do the same:

Just asked them the same. Thanks for the initiative.

The sound have to be really spectacular, or I cannot see them selling many of these units.

Completely agree, absolutely no itch here either, I don’t like the look of it either. Can’t see how it could sound better than my 1000 Pro, thanks Devialet saved me a bundle by not offering a proper upgrade route. I shall just continue to enjoy the music 😀

Quite disappointed and sad that they've abandoned the Expert line. Other than gimmicky repackaging, gaudy gold finish, App and software updates, the Astra's feature set and performance are inferior to the Expert Pro, and costs relatively more.

I understand Devialet is in financial trouble and looking to improve margins. It looks like they're giving their Amplifier line a last ditch effort and hope some of their customers will take the bait and "upgrade". The last Export CI upgrade was supposed to be "future proof". I'm not sure any current Expert customers will find the Astra offerings attractive. I got burn badly when Meridian abandoned their Sooloos product line, looks like the same is happening with Devialet. It's the beginning of the End. I'm keeping my 250 Pro as long as it's working, maybe look for a spare one while they're still available.

It seems digital gears have a limited shelf life. They become e-waste when the company stopped supporting them or went out of business. I guess that's why many audiophiles are going back to good old analog!

Long time browser of this forum, I felt the need to register and express my point of view.

Like many here, I followed an upgrade path, 120 to 220 Pro CI, then added another 220 Pro CI.
The Devialet promise of future evolution and future proof technology was not delivered, but rather Devialet chose to abandon further development in favour of their speaker systems and sound bar.

I guess I can add Devialet to the list of Companies, politicians or other entities who think not delivering on promises in the 21st century is acceptable. Well for me as a customer, it certainly is not and I’ll use the only option open to me … to cease to support the brand with any future purchase.

Devialet, I hope you read this, you’ve lost your way and in doing so, you’ve lost me as a future upgrade customer and I’m not alone.

Looks like there will be plenty of expert systems available with little or no resale value in the future … who’s going to trust Devialet with another “investment” when the company already has let us down with broken promises.

I do have to make one thing clear though. They have always been very good to their customers when it comes to warranty cases. My O'dA was well over its warranty time (at least a year) and when the display needed fixing, they paid for boxes to be sent to me, the the return to Paris and home to me again. I received a bill of cost that was over US$2000 and they didn't charge me a cent.

I honestly dont know how Devialet expects to sell the Astra range, when they have alienated their current loyal customers, by not offering upgrades, who wont be reporting positively on the new range, which is ridiculously priced to start with. I suspect very, very few sales, and it will be a non-viable product for Devialet.  They are doing everything wrong here!
