different amps for dual mono?
#1
I have a d-premier, and will get a 140 pro soon.
Wanna try to use these two for dual mono.
Put the sound quality aside(may be wierd but worth a shot),
wondering if it will work?
I will configure the max power of d-premier to the same of 140 pro.

Even if it works I would expect some tonal difference because of different noise, harmonic etc that won’t help you to keep the listening experience balanced.

Only feasible option I see is biamping if your speakers allow it. Bass from one amp, mid/treble from the other. That setup should be more worry free in theory but then amps won’t perform as dual mono.

Thank you. Biamping would totally make sence.
Unfortunately my speakers don't have it.

I actually did that with a 200 and 250 a few years back. Reduced the 250 to max 400 watt and it worked just like a d400. The sound of the amps is not identical so I would not recommend it but it works.
