hello again , maby it sounds grazy to you all but on the phono forum i see a lot of time the name "sut " for the phono . what is that ? gr hans

SUT stand for Step Up Transformer. 

It is a way to amplify the signal from the phono, typically from mobile core levels to mobile magnet level. 

That process has advantages (usually very low noise) but also limitations (usually linearity because now you have yet another coil in the circuit therefore you have built a filter)
