Hi Mike,
I was using an Anti-cable which uses 12 AWG solid copper wire for some time now and have now also build my own cable.
This is using 5 x 19 AWG solid core copper wires and is a big step up from the anti cable. I don't think that this can be easily beaten by any other cable. It's cheap but takes some time to make...my search that also includes some very pricey cables is over.
Dear fellow Devialet owners,

Anyone tried Clear Day speaker cables on Devialet? Specifically, their Double Shotgun speaker cables? I have read so much great reviews of it.

This is the link: http://www.cleardaycables.com/double_shotgun.php

Also, is there case for thinking that Devialet is a neutral system and hence may not be suitable for silver speaker cables and interconnects?

Any insights would be great! Thanks much!

Hi Voal,

For sure I would say that any 'over' analytical or 'bright' cable may not work that good with Devialet BUT depending on your Ears, Listning environment, Signal source and Loudspeakers it may be any cable you like, just Try!

I did a lot of silver and still do and to me it is a myth that silver would be overly bright, analytical or lean in character THOUGH silver plated copper have to my ears at times sounded like that. My experience with silver has only been positive and my experience it has given me more details, airier hights BUT still with better body and balance than copper, and the only thing I could say is that some unwanted 'fattiness' from copper was lost with silver. But remember, my ears and systems! You have to try and see for your self. Best of luck and please report back any findings of interest!

/Mike
I recently swapped out a French brand of speaker cable and power cord (Viard Audio Design) for a full loom of ASI (Acoustic Systems International) LiveLine cables hand built by Franck Tchang, a Chinese gentleman living in Paris. Franck used to be a jeweler and he now employs a rather interesting technique in building his cables. You can read about it at http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/asi/liveline.html They are very revealing. If you ever want to hear a cymbal or a triangle properly played back, you have found your cable. That goes, too, for electric guitar, as Franck is also a guitarist and he wanted to hear what electric guitars REALLY sound like on playback. (When I visited Franck's studio in Paris he jammed for me!) But none of this is at the expense of mid-range or bass extension. I have found them a nice match for my Dev200. By the way, when 6 Moons did their review of the original Devialet D-Premier, Marja and Henk used ASI LiveLine cables (among others) in their testing.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the insights!

Problem with smaller hifi markets like Singapore is that we do not have plenty of cable choices we can take home for trials.

I have used copper cables for the longest time with Classe Audio and now Devialet. I have found that Devialet is extremely fussy with cables.

Would hope for more insights from fellow members!!

Hi Vivialet,

Can you share the "recipe" for it? As user of a Mapleshade cable, which is also a thin solid cable, I may be interested in building your cable too.
I've been using Spatia by Graham Slee for the last six months. They are beautifully made, sound fantastic and are an absolute bargain IMO.
He will loan you a pair, even if you live in Australia, if you ask nicely Wink:

Voal, you're welcome!

This comes as a surprise: "Problem with smaller hifi markets like Singapore" ? Is it really smaller as last time I visited I had time over to go to for me the best ever HiFi market, the 7 storages of only HiFi and record shops at Coleman st! Never seen so much shops (no lowfi) and stuff anywhere, so I wonder how that this market can survive if it is small as you say. I guess there are some fat cats in Singapore.
In one shop who sells Nordost the lowest priced cable was the Valhalla and that shop was full of Odin boxes. I spent 4 hours there and nearly missed my flight out of there.

+ 1

I do not know any other place more convenient than "Adelphi" for hifi shopping. A must place to visit for me when I travel to Singapore. And I will be there again in a months time.

I have been using a silver cable too (Analysis Plus Big Silver Oval). I can not comment a lot on to its performance as I almost change everything at my system except speakers. I also changed the place of my speakers and now my cables are short and I am in the market. I am inclined towards copper cables this time as I also read it produces better result with Dev. I am considering Analysis Plus Solo Crystal. Is anyone using it?
