Thanks again to @LupusAlpha for the REW tip, and also to @SwissBear for having the idea in the first place. I gave it a try this morning, but with most peculiar results, see screenshot.
The light green line (the sensible looking more horizontal line) was generated using REW in the conventional way with Devialet AIR. The darker green and blue lines were generated by playing the sweep file via Roon integrated AIR and then via Roon RAAT with the SOtM kit.
So however I play the sweep file via Roon I get this strange upward line from 3kHz. I can get similar results playing the file via iTunes AirPlay. Curiously, the sweep file played via Roon sounds the same as it does directly from REW. Clearly something is wrong!
