Unfortunately lyrically describing what I hear is not my strenght. In the Habst the micro details are just more evident and there is a certain firmness and calm to the sound. The tonal density I have found with the Canare is to a large degree missing as is a certain warmth that the Canare exhibits. I am still re-adjusting to the new sound of the Habst, but once you get more used it, it truly sounds fantastic with the vocals being more forward and nuanced and especially all the small details standing out so much more clearly.
The Habst is still being burned in and I find it‘s sound constantly evolving. With longer use especially the mid-range is getting more mass and a certain edginess/glare in the highs is smoothening out.

Thanks. I may eventually buy the Habst. It is interesting that it is better than the top of the range industrial standard that Canare's latest cables represent. I have just ordered the Canare from Japan. They will be tested against my DIY cable based on Oyaide's A808 http://www.neo-w.com/english/as-808-v2-series_e.html - which has practically air as insulation.
