Connected my stereo pair up yesterday and delighted with the sound, never heard a speaker with such dynamics detail and control (what is that >1ohm bass driver). Maybe too good and probably better than the stuff used to mix the recordings and inevitable EQ boost/compensation applied for the studio monitors failings.Yes Phantom is great speaker no doubt. I love mine very much.
They say when you upgrade its "like lifting a veil from the speakers", I might need that veil back!! Awesome I think, but I'm not used to it yet but a hell of a lot of fun.
Still you must know that serious professional recording studios do have great monitoring sometimes ...
You can see in the picture below the 4 way active horn loaded system which is installed in one of my studios. It clearly outperforms Phantom which is fairly normal considering each speaker is 1000 liters, weight > 150 kg and costs 15 times the price of a Phantom.
What is fantastic about Phantom is that it reaches an unprecedented level of quality for such a small enclosure and price. Phantom clearly disrupts heavily the hierarchy of audio systems, but there are still better systems and some of them are in recording studios
