As for comparison of quality for Tidal vs rips, I agree with Eddye... When the Tidal version is good, its on par with my 16/44 rips done with dbPoweramp. So I would say on most recent albums, Tidal is generally on par SQ wise with my local 16/44 files.

Thank Yippedidou and Eddye, I dose seams like an attractive solution, but I do hope that thy make a full android app, I can control my Jplay streamer from both an IPad and a Android, the later is clearly better as it does real multitasking, hence it is always ready when the music plays :-)

Kind regards Morten

Hallo, I have today received a N100H I can't get tidal to work, it loads the tracks and attempts to play then, but it skips through the playlist, does anybody know what could be wrong?

Kind Regards Morten

I'm afraid I can't help but I've been kind of half-considering Aurender, and the N100H looks ideal - great purchase.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it, and if you're able to compare to, say, Roon on a Mac (SQ-wise and control-wise via their iPad software), now that would be very helpful indeed!

Is everything else working correctly? If so, I suggest contacting Aurender and/or Tidal.

I've had this problem once or twice with my N100H, restarting the Aurender didn't help, restarting my network (router) did. Still don't understand why i could browse Tidal and load tracks (suggesting the network connection is not faulty), but nog being able to play them though. Playing from the hard drive was no problem in these instances.

I could be wrong but services like Tidal, et al, will server hop on individual tracks thus sharing it's own load, so each track gets a new IP address to go and find to play that track. If you are having WAN issues with with your broadband service, and this could be just be weight of traffic, or contentions, then that could be the reason of failure to play. Quite happy to be shot down on this one, I am just an interested layman, but I have read recent comments on someone I trust on another forum, who does telecommunications on the networking side for a living. It does seem random though and other times, everything can tick along nicely.

Hmm, I have tried to restart the router, it still doesn’t work... I have also tried to reset the Aurender, it is still not working.

Tidal works on my Jplay Streamer, I can also stream Netflix without problems, I have a 20MB download, hence it should be enough.

I have also tried to disable firewalls etc...

It is a shame because it is a cool machine, it sounds fantastic and are easy to use...

I have contracted Aurender, let’s see what they say...

Kind regards Morten

Aurender has again updated the iPad app and, I presume, the firmware. N100 owners should hold off, since the AMM wasn't updated yet. With previous updates AMM was also updated so I've no reason why this update would be different.

Well my Tidal problem still isn’t fixed, but I hope/anticipate it will be...

It does sound fantastic, in a direct comparison with my PC running Jplay Streamer the Aurender is more relaxed, each instrument seems to have it’s own place, you can easily follow the instruments through the song.

It also lets the instruments sing/ring longer, in addition it so quiet, it will let you hear the silent notes in a number.

I have read before that other have compared it to listing to a recording of a band / having the band in our living room—I believe it describes it very well.

The operation is like others have stated excellent—I have yet to try on my Android tablet—if it reveals other findings I will revert.

I do believe that it is expensive, I could most likely have gained same improvements in sound quality with building a dedicated Audio PC and used in a dual Jplay setup, but I honesty do not want to use the time on it...

Kind regards Morten

PS. I have a Regen with a fancy cable, I will later try to remove it and see if it makes a difference with the Aurender, it did on the PC...
