Core Infinity board
My opinion is: specific threads for specific questions/problems. It is very hard to find things in these mega threads later on. And as the chat will have no limitations for more than 100 threads...

Agree. Sometimes trying to find something can be a real nightmare. Pun definitely intended. Tongue

Ok so do we need a new Forum section for Roon with sub sections?

I'd suggest not, as we already have a Streaming section which sounds like the right place for any threads about Roon.

I think roon is almost unique on its kind and the most used by far.
It´s a way to avoid confusion and keep the information more direct. Enough reasons to deserve a proper placeI, IMHO, of course.

Would be a nice sign in view of the cooperation between Devialet & Roon

Even this discussion is not optimally here within this thread ;-)
Should have been discussed here: https://devialetchat.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=2

OK guys, speculation or not, if one has the fantastic new integration of Roon with Devialet, why would I need the new streamer board?

Please bear in mind that Roon has Tidal and Internet Radio already well entrenched, other than choice, there is no need for Spotify, Deezer etc etc. I don't need to stream UPnP (hate it). Bluetooth and Airplay I can do without. Roon now controls on/off and volume, so anything the streamer board brings in this department via the iOS app is duplication and then opening multi apps (hate it). I guess an improved app might give us access to Expert settings, which is a big plus. I guess another big plus might be OTA (Over-the-air) firmware updates.

So why, please discuss? I know it's a free upgrade, but the logistics for me (living in a country that does not have UPS) are a nightmare. If it was user fitted, no problem, but returning unit to base involves a whole lot of pain to organise.

Well, off the top of my head,

1. if you would benefit from better/upgraded WIFI reception for the Devialet.

2. If you would benefit from faster Ethernet for the Devialet.

3. Resale value

4. I note that other streaming services are not of interest to you.
