Sweet Room
Just got this message from Theodora/Customer Service & Support Devialet

"Thank you for contacting Devialet customer service, I'll be happy to assist you!

I can certainly provide some clarity on the discussions you're seeing on the online forums regarding the Expert Pro line.

The Expert Pro series is now considered a legacy product, as production was discontinued several years ago. While we truly appreciate the continued passion from the owner community, this context is important when considering rumors of new updates. Our development resources are now dedicated to our current-generation products, which makes a major new firmware release for the Expert Pro line unlikely.

Regarding the remote control application, you are correct that the app is no longer compatible, and we apologize for the inconvenience this causes. As its development ended with the product line, a future fix is not expected. The physical remote remains the definitive method for controlling the amplifier.

Any official software releases, however minor, would always appear on the Downloads section of our website first.

Thank you for your passion for your Expert Pro system. It remains a fantastic piece of audio engineering.

Kind regards,
Theodora | Customer service & support Devialet"

Hi everyone,

I would like to know everyones´ opinion on Sweet Room (well, the ones who´ve used it...):

1. Is it worth trying out?
2. Is the learning curve steep (including REW)?
3. Has anyone got it to work properly with monos (skimming through previous comments gave me the impression you get the same results for left and right, but maybe this isn´t such a big problem?)?

My reason for asking is that I bought a Devialet 440 some months ago. I´m very happy with it as it is, but would like to overcome the room issues if possible, without using physical room treatment. I used a Lyngdorf RP-1 for my former amps and was disappointed when I realized It wasn´t compatible with the Dev´s. The great thing about it was that I didn´t have to delve into REW, but could use it straight forward after having measured my (living) room with the dedicated microphone.

I´m a little afraid of starting to experiment due to how time consuming the process might be, but also since having downloaded the latest firmware (which wasn´t installed when I bought the amps) I had big problems installing the configurations again because the Companion lost communication with the Master. I don´t want to go through this again, should it occur, especially since there´s no help to get from Devialet (they don´t answer my e-mails)....

Greetings,

Mikael
