I've wondered about that for a while and haven't taken the time to investigate but did Devialet themselves actually promise streaming on the existing Expert range or was that something reviewers just wrote about? Does anybody have proof or a quote from Devialet?
BTW, I'm not saying I don't believe you Nightmare. I'm just not sure and I would like to know.  Huh

I had an intensive email exchange about it before I bought my 240 and some discussions with my dealer and the German distributor also. And even months later they were talking about internal streaming and room correction.

Soon Angel Big Grin

Someday it subsided. No answers any more from Paris Dodgy

For me right now the Expert is working well. Connected to a Mac mini via short USB cable. I could buy an Aurender or a unit with Roon ready right know. But why should I, when Devialet is talking about a new streaming board. Might be a perfect solution. But who knows. They promised so much. And nothing really happened. Why should I go for an highly expensive upgrade when they cannot even say how things will work with the streaming board?! No clear announcements at all. Just again marketing bla bla so far. Makes no good impression to me, sorry.

It can be even worse; I have a 250, which I paid to have upgraded from a D-Premier. Now Devialet may want me to pay an additional 4000 GBP (around 4700 Euro) to get a 250Pro? As you say with a "future" streaming board with absolutely no info so far.... and no Roon support I guess. There is even a chance the amp needs an additional trip to Paris to have the new streamer board installed!  If this is correct I'd have paid 8200 Euro on top of what I paid for the D-Premier originally before I know anything about which streaming will be supported apart from AIR3. Not to forget that I originally bought the D-Premier because Devialet told me room correction would be introduced "soon". That was 2011/2012
I do not think this is a decent deal so I'll probably be looking at getting something else.

This is rather OT. Sorry.

I don't think it is OT at all, since the thread is to discuss the latest announcements from Devialet as presented on Wednesday.

My take on it is becoming clear: These are products aimed at the extremely wealthy, who for the most part do not have to care about cost, and who do not wish to delve into the fine details about how the products work. Unfortunately, more than a few serious audiophiles have been caught up in the hype, and now realize that their loyalty, their opinions, their input and their complaints count for absolutely nothing. I am happy that my own system sounds great, even though it doesn't do all that I had hoped, but based on the latest announcements, I can't see myself putting any more money their way. They treat the average customer with contempt, and will surely reap their reward in the fullness of time. I would rather deal with a company that at least tries to keep their customers happy.
Zappydev, you've pretty much summarised my feelings. Except I would say not only the average customer has been treated with contempt - I'd say it extends to those who bought the Od'A expecting it to be the pinnacle of the Devialet range for some time to come, hardly the "average" customer when you consider the cost.
Yes, I also agree with Zappydev. I don't think I'll be able to afford the upgrade and my planned speaker upgrade, but I will rest easy in the knowledge that I will still have a great sounding amplifier that will never sound any worse than it does now!
I am intrigued by some of the expectations people have had.
I know about the AIR controversy and the lack of info for some customers but streaming directly from a NAS and room correction have not been promised by Devialet as far as I know.
Maybe a dealer(s) or hopeful marketing junior, but AFAIK the engineers at Devialet have not been working on either of these to a planned release..

I am anticipating the O d'A update to be in about 12 months. Until then I will continue to enjoy it as is, mainly with CD, with the occasional LP or Qobuz from time to time.

I am in the same situation, bought a d-premier, updated once and now facing another 4,700 euros. Only positive I can find in this is that I was thinking to upgrade to the 800. Luckily I waited, otherwise I would be now extremely upset
I know I'm new to the game... But Devialet are hilarious, I can get Air Ethernet to work but it's not faultless, wifi just doesn't work full stop. Given that they can't get Air to work faultlessly why would anyone expect them to get Upnp/DNLA right and that's before we get to Devialet OS, it's a joke that these new offerings are just pipe dreams or even hot air. Devialet need to solve existing issues and learn to walk before they can run! If they need to look how to interact with a forum then they should look no further than Roon or Linn, there engineers actually engage with owners. The product sounds good but I don't believe it's worth the premium at the moment. I tell everyone about Roon, remember Linn fondly if over priced, but Devialet......... Empty promises count for nothing

unfortunately,  Devialet did promise room correction. I had several mails from them regarding RC. My first post on this forum back in 2014 was about this. http://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?t...338#pid338 They then dropped room correction/convolver functionality.
