It's never a fault to read the latest posts - see my #111 abough ;-)
I'm not sure what you mean by this. I stream directly from my NAS via USB, or did you mean wireless streaming?

I mean without a PC/Mac involved!
No other unit like an Aurender or so.
Expert piloted by an e.g. iDevice with e.g. Roon on it and that's it.

Thanks Ian, it's now a complete and detailed report.
We have a lot of informations. I think that the roadmap for end of 2016 and 2017, is a good choice for both 800 and OdA owners.
I am sure, that at the end of 2017, everybody will be full of enthusiasm

Thanks for the information Ian!
Very interesting answer from Mathieu Pernot re: Roon. It seems Devialet (or at least some of them) has understood the importance of Roon and not least the programming skills of Roon developers. Let us also hope Devialet can learn a little about how to deal with customers from Roon... not much hope there I suppose...

Are you a Devialet guy
The hope dies last
AND therefor everybody has to proceed the upgrade and send an unbelievable amount of money to France (again) for a pig in the poke so far. Why should Devialet receive so much advance praise at this point? Their information policy is ´again´ very strange and even vacuous. To all abundance a lot of different and even contradictory information from Devialet that does really not make me feal enthusiastic or even satisfied yet.
Nor I believe that could be the case at the end of 2017

Is this normal (or industry standard) when specifying amplifier power? Calling something 800W when it can only deliver it for 2 secs seems a bit of a stretch? Even 60 secs doesn't seem very long.

As most NAS units run some Linux variant, this would mean porting AIR to Linux. I do not see that happening. Roon developers may get the code (under NDA) to use it with RAAT to connect to the streaming input of the Expert amps. As Roon has done with 'slimproto', the protocol used for squeezeboxes.

Dpremier was a fantastic product, enthusiasm is for the ability to improve one more time, the excellence with the expert line and now with the PRO line. But nobody is forced, you are are free to stay with your unchanged amplifier
