@kantblue: Wouldn't surprise me if it's a customs issue. Had problem getting stuff sent from the UK as well due to brexit. Most of that has been sorted now (order regularly from UK).

Mine has been in workshop for over two weeks, no update. Contacted support and they would check what is going on. No update on that either. One would expect they would give some kind of update if they can't keep promised time line.
Hi Deezel - at least Devialet have yours - mine hasn't even got to them yet. It is a bit worrying how long they have had your speakers - I'm guessing they are overwhelmed by returns or they haven't got enough speakers manufactured to cover the numbers using the Elevate option?

It would be interesting to see how succesful the scheme has been - I did consider selling my phantoms privately and purchasing new ones but I thought the Elevate deal wasn't too bad and at least I didn't have to go through the selling/packing process myself. I hope I'm not being proved wrong.

My suspicion is that the program has been quite popular. I know I got WAY more for my 95’s in this program than I would have privately.
I don't know what mine would have sold for, mint condition, 4.5 years old. But at the time, "hassle free exchange", seemed like a good idea Wink But I also think the program has probably been a success in terms of volume.

@kantblue yeah, wonder what UPS is doing there, had quite a struggle with them here as well to come and pick up the packages. They wanted me to get them to a place and pick them up (they eventually came and picked them up).

Got an update that the speakers will ship this week. No indication on what the delay was/is.
Received my Dark Chrome 108dB pair exchanged for two 6 year old Silvers (U.S.). Both Silvers had some minor dents and one had some liquid splashed on it (which has 0 effect on it's functionality but *sigh*).



There was a delay receiving return materials (due to a shortage) but they eventually came. I packed the speakers in the boxes sans-fabric and sans-foot. Devialet received them and shipped out the new ones shortly after, no questions asked. I got two confirmation emails on receipt but only 1 email when the new ones were sent out presumably because they were on the same order.



I had just assumed I'd receive speaker + cable but to my surprise Devialet is including a remote with the speakers which is an added bonus because the tall v1 white remote would have been out of place next to the black speakers.



In all it was a slow (about 6 weeks from initial order) but smooth experience here.
Order hasn't updated on the devialet page, but I got two mails from UPS yesterday and two SMS from devialet at couple of hours later informing me that the order has shipped out under two different packages. Expected delivery in the afternoon.

@verza yeah, I saw the new speakers are delivered with a remote. I don't really need it, but I guess it can be nice not having to use the phone or other way to control it.

It would seem everyone has gotten a mixed bag when it comes to the return packaging. Wonder if they ran out of packaging and had to make do with what they had on hand. I could have sent them in the original boxes, but they did say to use what they supplied or they wouldn't take them...

Edit: And the boxes just came in half an hour ago. Won't have time to fiddle around with them before later tonight. So from ordering to delivery pretty exactly one month and one day for me =)
Hi All - just a word of caution to anyone in the UK contemplating upgrading using the Elevate system. You may be without your Phantoms for longer than you think.

My two Phantoms are still stuck at the airport in France - I have no idea why but every day they are scanned twice but no delivery schedule is mentioned. This is very frustrating, it took only one day to go from the UK to France via Germany but since then nothing has happened. It has been 13 days since the package arrived in France. I'm assuming it may be Brexit/Customs related but I really don't know and the UPS tracking page just says 'Held in Warehouse - Scheduled Delivery Information Unavailable'

I have contacted Devialet who initially just asked me to wait a few more days, which I did but still no information and speaking to a human being who can help at UPS is actually quite difficult - I don't speak French so can't realistically get in touch with the Airport.

Devialet have agreed that there is an issue and have told me the Head Office Administration Team are looking into this as they have the authority needed and will let me know what is happening.

Will keep you updated especially if I find the cause of the delay is something I did or didn't do, but the instructions were pretty clear, and the labels were mostly preprinted apart from a few signatures being required.

On the customs declaration it should be clearly stated that the ORIGIN of the goods is FRANCE and probably even that it is a Hardware exchange due to service reasons. Then it should be not an issue at EU customs. Most likely there is either something wrong with the declaration - or there simply is a huge BREXIT related queue of goods at the airport.
Will see how all this chaos around Brexit will end up.
A bit of progress at last. To anyone upgrading make sure you save the UPS labels as a PDF so you have a copy - you may need it.

Devialet have got back in touch with me, they said:

"I got our head office to contact UPS directly and they said UPS needs the commercial invoices for both parcels to be able to release the packages.

Do you still have the original return labels with the commercial invoices attached to them?"

I have supplied Devialet with the UPS labels - luckily I saved them as PDFs - had I just printed them I dread to think how this could have been sorted otherwise.

And yes, this will be the three copies of the invoice that I signed and attached to the packages that I sent - as requested by UPS.

I find it very odd that BOTH packages are delayed for the same reason - I used proper UPS pouches and secured the documents in them using plenty of tape and leaving my name and address visible again as requested. So UPS could have contacted me if there was a problem.

Utterly baffling - will let you know how this plays out!

Just received my upgraded Phantoms today. Powered right up, updated quickly and sound great. No issues thus far. Wanted to document my temporal experience with the upgrade for anyone curious about the process.

Ordered: 5/5/21 (Visa charged on that date)
Return boxes shipped: 5/19/21 (France)
Return boxes delivered: 5/21/21 (Friday) (no white cloth, but did come with base stands for boxes)
Returned Phantoms picked up by UPS: 5/24/21 (Monday)
Returned Phantoms delivered for inspection: 5/27/21 (New York)
Upgraded Phantoms shipped: 6/7/21 (France)
Upgraded Phantoms delivered 6/9/21 (Minnesota, USA)

Missed them while they were gone and happy to have them back!
