I think so. As far as I've read, the Aurender will become an endpoint, just handling the music side of things, you'll have to install the Roon software on your computer for controlling and UI. You can also connect a tablet with a Roon app to the computer to control the endpoint. I don't think the Aurender has the processing power to do what the control software does. I could find a clear answer, so I could be wrong..

If I need to network an Aurender with a computer (+ an iPad or or other tablet for user interface) to use Roon that will generate too much complexity for me. I would like to completely eliminate my computer from my music system. I have already a problem with the notion of using a WiFI router connected to an Aurender via ethernet. Does anyone know wether an USB WiFi dongle would work with Aurender to connect to a iPad etc. and to the internet via WLAN?

Thanks for confirming...
I think I will pass—one of the reasons why I went with the Aurender was the rock sold interface and no need to restart and windows tweaking/updating...
I more or less only use Tidal, I like it on the Aurender APP, and when I find an artist I like while at work using Tidal on my Laptop or iPhone and make it a favorite it also appears on the Aurender APP.
I really hope that the Roon integration do not do anything to hamper the sound and the user-friendliness of the Aurender…
Kind regards
Morten

I guess I'll pass as well. The Roon interface is well ahead of anything else I have seen but my PC is off when I am doing serious listening. I do have a NAS but Roon doesn't run on that. Bummer...

Firmware update. Qobuz is now supported. Think I'll switch back to Qobuz now.
Finally, this is so cool! I will most probably switch back to Qobuz especially for classic and Hi Res streaming the catalog is so much more interesting.
