How does this compare to original phantoms and DOS1? Another reason to remain on DOS1 if this has a “better”  capability.

The DAC is capable of 24/192 but Devialet is throttling. I can still stream 24/192 over Toslink and UPnP to the the speakers despite the 24/48 limit. The 24/48 limit could be an easy way to get rid of known stability problems with higher res streaming; just state that it's not supported. Easy way out.

Good to hear that 24/192 still streams over Toslink. At some point Devialet will need to explain their new product specifications. They still keep the product specs for the Golds to have a frequency range from 14Hz to 27kHz @-6dB but on the other hand there is no way to provide any digital signal above 48k, which results theoretically to a max frequency of 24kHz @-112dB when the filters are ideally bandstop. It’s a bit like my Renault Twingo has a max speed of 350 km/h ... in zero gravity space! Probably, Devialet needs to go over their books not to collide with consumers protection laws in France and Europe at least.

Are you saying that DOS2 on your Golds still support 192kHz on Toslink and UPnP? 2.12.3? But RAAT is limited to 48kHz?
I wonder if the AES input of the Reactor Custom still supports 192kHz even if Devialet states 24/48...

My Gold's don't accept 24/192 over Toslink, only certain models with certain Toslink connectors will do it...spend $$$'s in cables and external DAC's, etc, to find that out...in my case, the only way to enjoy 24/192 would be using uPnP... Undecided

Agreed. Could only ever get 24/96 over Toslink with the Golds. No problems whatsoever with 24/192 using UPnP (MinimServer).

No Phantom accepts anything , but downsampled everything Wink to 48Khz...It's a DOS 2 limitation...

Too bad... I was hoping there was a workaround. Is it possible to "downgrade" firmware on Phantoms (to 2.11.5 for example) or is firmware a one-way procedure?

I just ordered the 108db version in matte black.

Anyone know how this will compare to my Sonos FIVE?

Thanks
