I gave this new version a try last night.  Previously in my system I was lucky to get through 10 mins of SD material before I either got very frequent drop outs, or the dreaded white noise.  There have been no hardware changes since I last tried, but my PC is now running windows 10 (clean install, not upgraded), and in the few hours I have been using it I have not noticed any stability problems.  I've only had it playing quietly in the other room so no sound quality observations, and I could have missed some drop outs, but it's never recovered from problems in the past once they have started.  I'm also using my PC for plenty of other things, not making any special allowance to try and get stability.

I have a win 8.1 laptop that had exactly the same problems as my desktop had, I'll try the new version on there later and see if that is also stable.

One thing I have noticed that I was not expecting, is that previously when pressing play or pause it would take ages for the music to start or stop, long enough to think something had gone wrong, now pausing is almost instant, and resuming is fairly quick.  It's gone from something that I found annoying to something that's perfectly fine.

If stability continues like this I will have to do SQ test, it was pointless before.
Exciting. Been checking back on the forums daily for any updates. Looking forward to getting home and testing it out - Win10, Foobar2000, Wasapi (event) is my preferred config. 24bit / 96kHz in the Devialet taskbar app. 24bit set in Foobar2000 output device.

I was using the Kernel Service for a while but found Wasapi to be more stable.

Excellent guide here on preparing Foobar2000 for bitperfect audio - http://www.24bit96.com/usb-computer-audi...audio.html

Anyone with a similar configuration?

That's exactly what I'm using. It was the least stable config before, other players were better for stability.

Thanks! this is good. Time for NUC (fully loaded Smile )

I am also thinking of a NUC now or perhaps the new SKULL as it can hold two M2 SSD disks and I dont have that much music so 500GB is enough and then one disk for Windows and Roon server.

How do you feel Fidelizer improved the sound? I am new to this computer thing is the computer usefull as normal with Fidelizer or do you need to turn that of to use the computer as normal.

To me, Fidelizer does improve the SQ quite a bit. You can just download from fidelizer-audio.com to try, and it's free if you don't mind restarting every time you restart your PC.

Exacly my configuration. However the 3.0beta taskbar app doesn't give the option for bitrate/depth anymore.

Been playing various bitrates for 26 hours now and not a single hickup (at least not while I was awake).
No white noise or blue screens. The joy! I'll keep my fingers crossed for the next few weeks ofc, but so far so good. Angel
And the sound quality is awesome. Beats my crappy USB by far. Much more transparency, airyness, depth & decay.
Also a less digital, more analog feel to it then the previous AIR version.
This all sounds rather promising!  Smile

Ok, I will try it to se what it does to my system.
White noise!!!

However I was playing with the windows playback devices panel at the time. I've tracked it down to when I click on the Recording Devices tab, it causes white noise every time. Interestingly just pausing the music for a few seconds, and then resuming fixes it, no need to restart any software or reboot.

PS It was whilst playing some Aphex Twin, I'm certain if he has a Devialet there would be some white noise heavily featured in a future track. And I'd like it.

Tried the same and bingo! The moment I clicked the recording devices I got the same white noise shower.
No problem for me though. I never use these devices.

Please take a second to report it to Devialet.  It might not be something they will address but they should be made aware of it.
