I heard the Olympica ii a while back being powered by a 200 I think. This was before SAM and I thought it was a lovely combo. With SAM it's bound to be impressive.

I've always thought there was a great synergy between Devialet and SF. They kinda complement one another.

Hi guys,

Having also considered the Olympica III, IMO the II is the natural choice in most medium size rooms, certainly on mine.
They're not too fuzzy about placement within the room, as long as you leave them enough space to "breath" (manual states min 70-80 cm clearance from walls), although I've found that experimenting with toe in and rake is essential. No hard rules, just go with your ear.
Here they sit 2 mts apart.

Can't wait to hear them through SAM which should not be too far away now that mapping for the III's has been announced.

If I had to use just one word to describe them, that would be BALANCE.

Cheers,

Things moving quickly - the PMC Twenty 23, Twenty 24, Twenty 26 now all SAM ready!
I inquired about my Parsifal Ovations, specifically that they were unlikely ever to reach the magical 100 votes. This is the reply which I think gives hope to many of us in the same position, and cements the idea that Devialet are putting a lot of effort into SAM; they clearly think SAM is a USP and will give them a significant return on investment in the long-run.....

Quote:
Our SAM® team is already in contact with Verity Audio. The team has a full schedule and is doing its best to provide SAM® profiles. This is the reason why we originally set a rule of 100 votes to prioritise some models in order to get organised.

It also means that in a near future, we will be able to provide SAM® profile even for speaker models which did not reach 100 votes.

I hope it does answer your question.

Best regards from Paris,
Anyone heard when some Dynaudio speakers will be SAMed?

The Dynaudio Focus 160 has already been SAM'd. Click here for the SAM-ready speakers:

Good news. Hopefully they will get around to the C1 very soon as its the most popular Dynaudio speaker on the VFS poll.

I can also agree with your comments re bass and mid range, although to a lesser extent in my case. And yes, the best value upgrade ever!

Evening all

I've now been using SAM for the last week or so, and it continues to amaze me as I trawl through my music collection. After a few days, it became clear that the bass- in some tracks - was overwhelming (I think this was mentioned also by the forum member that has Magico speakers?) - so I re-positioned my speakers. Problem sorted. I'd recommend that all SAM users try this also - think about SAM as you would a component upgrade and re-evaluate / re-tune your system accordingly.

The most amazing thing isn't, IMHO, the bass improvement - it's the feeling of "rightness" that SAM brings. The music just seems to make more sense, and seems to have a more organic feel (I only play ripped FLAC), like a very good turntable.

So, I'd like to revise my previous suggestion - if you have a Devialet, and are in the market for new speakers, buy the best SAM-enabled speaker you can afford. It doesn't make sense, IMHO, to look outside that shortlist.

Can only imagine what other goodies are coming down the line in future firmware upgrades...

Now, back to Blood on the Tracks ....

ATB, Ken
Raidho C-1.1 SAMed! also Raidho X-1 has slipped in there too.
Trying now - more bass. 23Hz apparently which seems optimistic for a standmount though they reckon 44Hz before SAM.
New speakers up again, Sonus faber Amati Futura and Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Grand are the ones I can tell from the website.
