(09-Nov-2014, 17:11)Vivialet Wrote: [ -> ]you have to configure the 2 buttons of the remote to SAM on/off and Tone Controls. Then you can of course switch SAM on or off and if you select tone controls the last option (after balance, bass, treble) is SAM. There you can adjust the SAM level between 0 and 100%.

i wish they would SAM the g1's , I would trade/upgrade my D premier the instant they do that.
I have other DRC solutions , acourate , minidsp etc , but don't want to put any additional DSP into the signal in case it spoils it....
(I have a hump at 25 and 47 hz..11m x 7,5m room)
i wonder what LF extreme they will get with the g1's ?

did you ask somewhere that it is same SAM for S3/Si3/SR3 series?
because devialet pages only say that it is for new SR3??
Dynaudio C1 signature now SAM'd. Do people think this profile should be good enough to use on the original C1? As far as I know the difference is only the coating on the tweeter and revised internal cabling. Thoughts?
Whooohoo! We're SAMed!

The signature is the same as the Mk2 but the Mk1 has indeed the old tweeter and also there's a revised x-over in the Mk2. That could make some difference.
Enjoy! you might be in for more of an audio venture than you realise. I have heard the Dynaudio's in a demo a while back, it's hard to be sure, but I suspect that they have a quality of bass definition and natural extension that could yield occasional amazement with SAM. It may sound good when you first try it, but the joyous surprises may come when you least expect. Have fun!
I know what you mean Confused. Without SAM they already produce some serious bass. Songs that have rumbles in it I didn't even know existed are the kind of surprises I've already had. Now all I need to do is get off this rig and make my way home Sad for some more surprises.
@Pim van Vliet:

Please post your impressions of the SAM effect on these Dynaudio's.
I tried SAM with my C1's (original model). As noted above these differ from the C1 II/Signature slightly. The C1 II has a different coating on the tweeter, upgraded internal wiring, and upgraded resistors and capacitors in the cross-over. As far as I know they are just higher quality components and the cross-over design itself is the same. My thinking was that my speakers should be close enough to use the profile, eg same cabinet, same drivers, same impedance load etc.

My impression was that the SAM difference was quite subtle, there was certainly no big improvement in the bass as some people have described for other speakers. However The C1's already have incredible bass for a stand-mount speaker.

What I did notice was a subtle improvement in the timing cohesion. Overall I prefer the sound with SAM on but I think I would probably struggle to pick the difference in a blind test.

I look forward to reading the impressions of other C1 users. I know it is a popular speaker with Devialet owners based on VFS poll.

You will have to be patient; I'm stuck on a drilling rig with no-one to replace me for a few weeks Sad
I have just set up my PMC Fact 8's with just released SAM. First observation is improved top end, particularly string tone which sounds much cleaner. This was not expected. Bass is more extended and better defined. I feel that the Fact's are reaching their potential at last. My previous Bryston amps had muscle but not the clarity or openness of the D200 which seems to have it all! I am not surprisingly delighted and looking forward to a long listening session this weekend! The football will have to wait.
