I know what you mean. The thing is, the room is large enough to accommodate bigger speakers (5.5 x 6m).

So Please try Guarneri Evolution. They should be perfect in this room. Great monitors with Devialet. I have just 18 metrs so Auditors are ok in this space.
Sonus Faber Cremona Ms and Olympica 1s just added to SAM list this afternoon
Added today: SF Guarneri Evolution, Thiel CS1.6, Acoustic Energy Reference 2.

Total number of speakers SAM ready stands at 58 now. Pretty good progress!
Well, as expected Devialet have announced they will not be providing a SAM file for the Martin Logan Montis. I got a nice e-mail this afternoon from Judith at Devialet. It was pleasing to be given an explanation for the decision which, though slightly garbled, did get to the heart of the matter. The signal entering the Montis goes through a high-pass filter which allows only a low voltage signal through to the subs, and the subs have their own built-in active amp with DSP.

This is what I was expecting, and it gives me another nudge towards my new plan, which is to use the Devialet to power my SF Cremona Auditor Ms (the posh living room system) and buy a new amp for the Martin Logans, maybe a Sanders Magtech (my upstairs system).
Matt. You spent so long finding the perfect speaker for the Devialet, then abandon them for the SF's! If you like the sound of the Montis with the Devialet, why not look 'round for a bargain price D-Premier. The lack of SAM etc. with the D-Premier should not be an issue with the Montis, plus the D-Premier should offer a step up in sound quality vs the 200. Up to you and your ears of course, just a thought!
I also had a nice email, in my case for the ML Ethos... interestingly this was in the email... 'Be ensure that the entire SAM® engineers team is working on the feasibility to make electrostatics panels SAM® ready, in order for you benefit from this technology as soon as possible' ?

You make a very good point. The idea of a D-Premier is quite appealing.

What I failed to say in my earlier post is that one option I'm considering is to buy a second Devialet, so both the SFs and the Montis would be driven by Devs. Or to put it another way, any amp I buy for the Montis will have to be at least as good as the Dev 200.

A third and cheaper option would be to drive the Montis with the 200 and buy a 120 for the SFs.

Don't worry: I know how good a Devialet is! But I do want to explore whether other amps are better at driving the Montis.

Anyway, with the imminent house move, things are going to get much better. My "den" will be a bit bigger: about 4 x 4.5m. And the downstairs living room is 5 x 5.5m. Two nice rooms for two different systems! Maybe two Devialet-based systems? Decisions, decisions ...

Cheers,
Matt

Yes, Tony, it'd be interesting to know which speakers they might work on.
Matt
Devialet have been talking about a full frequency range SAM. Perhaps they might do this for ML owners first, for the above 200hz range I guess? You never know, but it won't be for a while I would have thought, they have quite a few speakers to get through for the "normal" SAM first. Could this be what they are referring to in their slightly cryptic email responses?

Martin Logan Theos just SAMM'd on Configurator; it seems the problem is with the active bass driver series i.e. Ethos and above
