@Confused, I've submitted your findings to Devialet, together with my thoughts - they may be off, but at least let their engineers think in that direction.
Good work Alex, thanks.
This ones gone very quiet for a while. Anyone got any news?
Most of us are using USB I suppose. I asked support a couple of weeks ago and reported back to the forum. If someone else can check if they are still awake in France ...
I asked Devialet about this and got a response Sep. 8th

"Regarding the white noise issue, we are currently working on it. Some improvements were made but there is still some things we need to deepen.

A communication will be made when it will be solved."

According to this Devialet will inform us when they have found and fixed it.
Thanks for the update ogs! It looks like this white noise issue is proving to be a very tricky one to fix, either that or the Devialet guys are working remarkably slowly!
I've send this mail to support. Not nice and probably received by a poor support guy who cannot change things, but they have to take customer service more seriously imo. After three months, the least one can expect is an official workaround.

On June 22th 2014, the first reports of the white noise issue were reported on the Unofficial Devialet Forum, and in a support call to your organisation. Today, almost three months later, there is still no official communication from Devialet.
Actually, I find it hard to believe that it can take months to give guidance on work around's to customers. All I want is an official public communication on what's going on and - if possible - what we can do to avoid the problem. Eg. Play only CD-quality music, turn the box of after 3 hours etc etc
Hello, I used USB and decided to try AIR (but I did not read this thread before...). I discovered the "white noise problem" Angry, wondering what could be wrong in my settings Huh (direct connection between Devialet 800 and my computer). Now I have read all this thread, and I feel much better Smile. But I am back to USB again!
Hope Devialet will solve it, but it is a very long time to find a solution.
Best regards to all, especially to those who have had the same problem!
It happened again tonight—the PC have been running for several days...

I did notice something new—or I perhaps haven’t noticed it before.

The dB sign turned orange when it happened, if I pressed pause on the iPad the noise stops and the dB sing turns white again. If I hit play it turned orange and the noise is back.

I tried to change the music, when I did this the noise diapered and the sound is back to normal.

To be clear, I haven’t restarted the PC or the Air software on the PC.

Kind regards Morten

Morten, are you referring to the Devialet iPad app, or Devialet's display? What's the significance of orange, do you know? When everything's OK, what's the color of the dB sign, when you stream music?
You mentioned that when you changed music, things were back to normal. In fact, they were not. Several people noticed that once the problem happens, it's more likely to happen again, unless you you restart AIR AND the player, perhaps, even reboot the PC.

If you run PC continously, I'd restart AIR and the player every day. If you put your PC to sleep, make sure you always quit AIR and the player before doing so (or else when you wake the computer up).
