Yes, it is clear they are working on the fixes for Spark and Phantom at the moment, the updates are coming thick and fast in the Phantom world at the moment. I understand why Devialet are doing this, but with "Expert" owners having paid out anywhere from £5 to £20 grand, it is a little annoying to be at the back of the Devialet queue for fixes to AIR and the Configurator bugs etc. Frankly, it is clear that they are under staffed on the software side relative to what they are achieving with the hardware. Plain bad management and planning in my view. Maybe even a touch of greed, trying to make as much cash as possible from the hardware whilst skimping on the very essential software side of things.
I was thinking possibly even a touch of arrogance as they know their product is that good. Will people abandon a Devialet once they have expereimced it?
My knowledge of hifi is not that good and this is my first piece of high end kit. I just can't imagine how it could get much better unless you spend serious cash. Maybe they know this
I do suggest that everyone who's not given up on AIR should request the 2.1.4-beta1 version from Devialet. They will send it to you via email. This way we can test this version heavily, and provide the necessary feedback to Devialet as to whether this version is indeed an improvement. This would be more productive than just complaining to Devialet about the problem. It's obvious that they had tried to fix it, but did not succeed. We need to help them out by providing facts.

Is this problem solved?

xy - No, the problem is not solved, indeed your own recent experiences demonstrate this.  In fact, the issue has been around for about a year now, maybe more.  Devialet themselves have made comments that the issue effects less than 2% of users.  Judging by the posts on this forum, and Ian G's white noise survey, the actual figure must surely be much higher.

I suggest you send a query to Devialet informing them that you have the problem, and ask them when they plan to have the issue fixed.  I notice that Womaz and other's new to Devialet are also experiencing the issue.  If everyone getting the issue sends a polite query to Devialet, then this might help to shake them out of there complacency.  Please note that I am not suggesting a coordinated spam attack on Devialet's query system!  However, I think if Devialet get a steady stream of legitimate queries, particularly from new owners, then this might help getting the right information and message to Devialet.  After all, it is the new owners that are currently feeling the pain of the purchase price of that shiny new amp, and it is Devialet that has your cash!  Let them know that you are not happy!

For what it's worth, I too am running Windows / Ethernet, albeit with JRiver, so a similar set-up to yourself.  I am running the beta version of AIR which was initially very problematic, as I got white noise almost every time the PC's screensaver went into power save mode.  However, with the screensaver disabled, the beta version of AIR has worked well for me.  Don't take this as a suggestion for curing your own issues though, the white noise issue is very random and appears to be very sensitive to specific PC set-ups, which in detail vary enormously.  It's a slippery customer this white noise!  However, it's Devialet's responsibility to fix, so if you, Womaz and others new to the white noise club send the odd query to Devialet, at least it tells them you are out there and waiting!

ok……thanks........

Yes I think it is much higher too. When I discovered the white noise problem, several months ago, I was furious because Devialet knew that problem and did not warn their customers. I sent them an email but never had a reply on that subject. As I told them that I will not use Air anymore, they surely counted me as a part of the 98% that don't have a white noise problem... Big Grin
Anyone else got a mail today announcing a new beta AIR? Version is 2.1.4-beta4. I'm not really set up at the moment to use AIR but might give it a go .Just wondering if others (presumably fellow white noise/dropout sufferers) had the same announcement.

I got the same e-mail today. It stated that my white noise issue had been solved, and wanted me to test the beta. Will probably test the new beta during the weekend.

I too got the email re AIR 2.1.4-beta4. However, my email states "in attempt to solve the issue", not that the issue is solved. I should have time to test at the weekend. Maybe this one is unbreakable? We shall see.

Sorry, I was to quick. Mine also said "in attempt to...", but my request status said "Your request (#xxxx) has been solved"
Unfortunately it did not solve my white noise issue. 40 minutes into listening it started. Would be interested to hear other feedback on this
