7 Days of logically eliminating software, removing unnecessary network binding and tweaking the intel nic driver settings (buffers, flow control, interrupt handling) and it's impossible to get AIR to work reliably with 24/192 or DSD content. If Devialet can't reproduce the problem all they have to do is queue up 5-6 DSD albums in a row it's that simple.

Note that my W10 HTPC is headless and only has Roonbridge on it so it has zero software interference.

I will now continue my Twitter campaign.
Today begins the great experiment part II. I last tried this in December but ran into a few issues over 7 days so switched back to USB.

So today downloaded RoonBridge for my Windows 10 laptop. Other than an issue with needing to update to a newer build of RoonBridge I have the following setup.

Roon Core on a Mac Mini connected via ethernet to hub. RoonBridge on a Windows 10 laptop with 2.13 AIR installed connected via ethernet to hub. Devialet 400 configured for ethernet only connected via ethernet to a hub. Remote control of Roon on either a Macbook or iPad.

Note that the Windows Laptop running RoonBridge is on a different floor that the Devialet and Mac Mini.

So far, so good, but of course I need to try different sample rates and DSD files as well, and see how this fairs over the next few days.

My record is 3 1/2 DSD albums in a row.  I went 4 days but that was a mix of various 16/44.1 to 24/192 and DSD.  Throwing a 16/44.1 album in every now and then will give you the illusion of stability for extended periods.
I will have to test pure DSD + 24/192 albums and see if mine is stable. Will share my results.

@jeff - so are you still using the Roon->RoonBridge->AIR->Devialet setup? I believe the answer is yes, based on your using Build 19.

I am bouncing wildly from DSD to 24/192 to 16/44.1 to 24/96 and back again. But as noted it is only Day One for me.

No, I plugged USB back in tonight after giving my last tweak an extended DSD attempt earlier this evening.

Don't bounce around.  Just give it a steady diet of DSD if you've got it.  It will either work forever or quickly tell you the sad truth.
Good idea, I will just keep rolling DSD at it for while. Were you using ethernet connections for your RoonBridge and Devialet?

FWIW all my music is on a Synology NAS, also wired via ethernet.

Yes. I thought about getting a second NIC just for the Devialet, but looked at the throughput, receiving and sending DSD was using less than 20% of the single gigabit connection of my HTPC. I had read elsewhere a direct wired link hadn't helped others, so I plugged USB back in. It actually sounds pretty good now that ASIO is working properly with the last build of RoonBridge, I've always preferred the sound of ASIO to WASAPI even though they shouldn't be any different.
Well, crap that doesn't bode too well for me, does it?

But not straight ethernet from RoonBridge device to Devialet, correct?

At least we can make a game of it, like I said I lasted 3.5 DSD albums.  That's all you have to beat. Sigh!
