I'll try and give it a go tomorrow.
A thought occurred to me earlier. (It happens occasionally) I have little idea how the AiR software works, or indeed what exactly Devialet is changing with the various AIR updates. However, do any of these changes, aimed at eliminating white noise, have any impact on sound quality? As an example, if I knew that one of the previous AIR incarnations was the ultimate for sound quality, I might make an effort to get it to work with my system. Perhaps these updates don't actually change sound quality in any way? Does anyone know?
AIR 2.1.4-beta4 is Windows only?

I believe it is Windows only.
The link was to a Windows exe only.
Curiously, AIR 2.1.4-beta4.exe is 1.5 bigger than the previous BETA version (about 15MB vs 10MB). So, they did put some work into it, for certain Smile
The respective post on the official Devialet forum also says (paraphrasing): if the problem happens to you with this version, send us the screen shot of the Windows' processes and the "crash capture". I wonder what the latter is? Has AIR 2.1.4-beta4 been enhanced to automatically detect the white noise pattern and output a log file? Or is there a way to trigger that crash trace manually during the white noise problem. Does any one know?

@Womaz, did you discover any such file in the Devialet AIR folder?

@Confused, regarding your question as to whether the new AIR versions improve SQ, I don't believe so. We got the ultimate SQ with the introduction of WASAPI (and I don't mean this with any degree of irony). The SQ simply can't be improved upon any more: the Devialet unit(s) gets digital data without losses, intereference, and it gets asynchronously (so, jitter is out of the equation). All they can do now is fix stability and other issues (e.g. white noise).

Alex - I was actually worried that updates to AIR aimed at fixing white noise might actually have a negative effect on SQ.   I'm currently getting on quite well with "beta1", so don't want to take a step back in SQ for no good reason.  (Although I suspect I'm over thinking this one!)

I have no idea what you mean so I will assume the answer is no Smile
I have run a couple of tests on beta 4. Previously I got white noise after about 20 minutes with 24/192 files. On my tests so far, from a fresh reboot of my PC, I am getting about 2 hours, but after that I do get the white noise again. After one test, I just disconnected AIR and the reconnected it and then I got about an hour. It seems to be good progress, but not to have fixed it yet.

Well, given this generous run for 24/192, those of us preferring the 16/44 format may never experience the white noise may again Smile
Anyhow, if you follow the link in the email we got from Devialet, the page with the link to the new BETA version mentions the "Crash Trace" (or something to this effect) they would like to receive from us, if the problem happens agains. The chances are, they finally put some diagnostics logic into AIR, which I've been suggesting to them all along. If that is the case, we need to find out from them how to capture that trace, as it can provide important info to Devialet.

@Confused, I doubt the SQ can get worse, either. But if they indeed added some diagnostics, AIR's CPU consumption may potentially be higher.
