I understand from Devialet that the beta version is in fact "slightly different" to the "official" 2.1.3 version. Although I have no details as to what the actual differences are. I am too busy at work at the moment to be bothered with trying either version during the evenings. However, I have a reasonably free weekend lined up, and will try both and report back.

I've just played some music with 2.1.3. First with Jplay between MC20 (0.27) and AIR, ethernet. White noise in the middle of track two. This was with kernel streaming as Jplay did not see WASAPI.
Then I used MC20 with WASAPI directly to AIR, bypassing Jplay. White noise did not turn up until the end of track six. Album was The Absense - Melody Gardot, 24/96.
For me this is it. I'll remove AIR from my computer and use my energy on getting the best possible sound from USB while I wait for Devialet to come up with something completely different for ethernet streaming.
Pity really, as sound quality with AIR is brilliant.
Maybe the new AIR is little more than a Yosemite fix and the beta version has the white noise fix? Just a guess, I'll advise something more useful after I've had time to try properly at the weekend.

Let's hope you are right. Although Roger at Devialet support did confirm that the white noise fix should be in 2.1.3, he was a bit vague about it. Looking forward to your findings.

Thanks for that report. I'm not yet ready to risk another bass driverHuh
Don't bother with the BETA version, as AIR 2.1.3 is the final product (the next iteration after BETA). Yes, according to the release notes, it should contain some Windows related improvements.
Yesterday, I uninstalled the BETA version and installed 2.1.3 Did not restart the PC. And the very 1st second, I was greeted with the white noise Smile
Rebooting the PC did fix that, but I have a feeling that even if Devialet made improvements, the issue is still lurking out there. So, I'm not going to abandon my usual anti-noise precautions, which I won't enumerate here again.
I'd be curious to know what others discover. Was there at least an improvement related to the duration of streaming?

On a WIN7 computer, I updated to 2.1.3 and was able to connect immediately through both Ethernet and WiFi (not always the case on 2.1.2). Also, my settings on the app for both Ethernet and WiFi now stay put after I select their parameters (again, not always the case on 2.1.2). I played various 16/44.1 and 24/96 songs via JRiver (JPlay driver) for about 30 minutes without any problems on the Devialet AIR 24/96 setting. I even paused one song for a minute. No problem.

Okay, so this was a short test and now I need longer listening sessions and will try other platforms, such as Fidelify and iTunes.

Fingers crossed that this is the real deal for my setup. I wonder if 2.1.3 works well on some computers and not well on others.

Stay tuned...

Again, on a WIN7 computer, I had zero problems last night during a two-hour listening session using 2.1.3. I used JRiver and tried pausing, quickly selecting new songs in the middle of one that was playing and various other stuff. No problems. Next up will be to try Fidelify and iTunes but first reactions, at least on my setup, are good.

@ogs, don't give up yet. If your testing scenarios involve changing the "Enable Bit Perfect" setting in AIR, make sure you restart AIR and the player after toggling it. If you don't, I think the white noise is almost guaranteed. Whenver you change ANY settings in AIR, restart it and the player.

Thanks AlexS, I did restart everything several times in a systematic manner. No luck. I've really given up AIR for the time being. I also reported the same to Roger at Devialet. I have not heard back from him yet. They do not like to answer critical messages....
Thanks again
