I had given up on Air WiFi, despite getting a signal strength -40dBm it would never entertain Audirvana+ 1.5.12 and a straight iMac - iTunes would collapse into motorboating and other unpleasant sounds after a few minutes.

Air3 WiFi now works fine, I can't comment about any improvements in SQ as it's been so long since I heard it as a source.

Fine until I select a file with a different bit rate which causes Audirvana and iTunes to sit there defiantly and refuse to load until I restart Audirvana.

So all in all, the Beta version giveth and taketh away.If nothing else it's a good test of memory trying to recall the differing bit rates of each file, and good exercise walking from room to room to restart Audirvana.
I've loaded a playlist of alternating 16 and 24-bit tracks: playing without a hitch so far.

It seems we're in one of those infuriating situations where it works for some but not for others.

I'm struggling to think where I've seen that before.... but I'm sure it will come to me....

To be fair I don't think too many have experienced white noise yet. There are definitely some issues with integration of AIR with ROON though. And many Audirvana Plus users are having this issue with playback pausing between different bitrate tracks.

Oddly I am using A+ and it only happened to me twice yesterday, that's in over 12 hours of playback.

From my perspective it's been outstanding really, but that's what happens when your expectations are so low.

Anyone have any idea when the Windows version might be released?

As far as I'm aware, from the descriptions at least, I never experienced 'white noise' as it was described by the Windows users. Never a sudden blast, more a build up from crackles and pops, to throbbing weirdness, to chaos. From memory anyway.

This is very true.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for sure - they've released a beta after all and it would be exciting for all of us to think that when the final release comes, there will be no more issues and we can all relax and move on to obsessing about other things. Final judgement comes when proper releases of OSX and Windows are out.

Which player are you using ?

What is the sample rate of your tracks ? Are they all 16/xx and 24/xx or 16/xx and 24/yy ?

-40dBm is not strong enough. Mine is around -18dBm now.
-18dBm? That's insane! I get between 4-5 bars of reception indicated in the AIR app and that's around -55 to -58dBm. And that's only about 1.5m away from the AP which is a triple antenna job.
I have no problems streaming 24/96 or even 24/192 with AIR 2 (wthout Audirvana) and only have wifi signal strength of -48 to -50 dBm according to the display on the amp.
