Wow, back in the world of Air again.  I never really messed with it much.  Plus bought an Aurender N10 and life seems much easier!

I am messing with the Beta 3.  Install seemed to go well.  I have the icon on the top of the MacBook screen.  It connects to my internet-less router and to the D250 OK.  When I press settings on the Devialet Air icon I get the setting box open.  I can see My Devialet is connected and see the signal and volume circle plus Mac and IP address.  But if I try to click on General Settings I get nothing.  It is not greyed out and the little orange settings icon is orange.  Advanced setting is also available.....but no access to General Settings.

I have JRiver for Mac set to Devialet Air core audio.

Am I missing something?  Air seems so 2014 to me, I feel a little rusty on the setup..
I dropped the firewall, restarted and still the 200 does not show up in the little app window on my computer.
The 200 is broadcasting in wifi as the little wifi fan is white and moving.

I don't understand why it doesn't work and why the 200 does not show up in the app?
Clicking on General Settings does nothing either - nothing happens.

I tried in both MacBook Air and Windows desktop and same on both. The little app on both machines does not show the 200 and the 'disable air' still has a check mark.

I am at a loss and I keep thinking it's something simple.
Roon on MacMini, AIR3Beta on MacMini and ethernet cable to Devialet. Both connected to same switch.
The best sound ever in my system Cool
I have tried many USB cables, and they sound different yes. But AIR3 is far better! And no need for expensive USB-cable Tongue
Thank you guys for sharing setup in Roon an AIR, before I change this my Mac got bananas. After changed setup I had only one short dropout and white noise playing one DFF file.
The sound is more natural, voices sound more natural, top end is open and clear without sharp edges, low end is thigter and more natural punch. There is something with the timing and flow in the music, more relaxed but far from boring.

Waiting for more news from Devialet Big Grin
Hoping for Roon integration.....

When I play a 96/24 file with Air 3.0 it plays as 44/16 if I don't manually change the sample rate to 96/24 in Audio Midi setup, then if I play a 44/16 next it upsamples it to 96/24 unless, yet again, I manually correct it.
AIR 2.1 works as it should with the file being recognised and played at its correct sample rate.

I wonder if that is what has 'fixed' AIR.

They previously had some code to override the Audio MIDI settings and now they have taken it out.

Is this when playing through iTunes only? With Audirvana Plus 1.5.12 as long as I deselect Direct Mode and Integer mode in preferences it doesn't seem to have issues with changing bitrates. If I select those two options the music will just stop in between two tracks with different bitrates.

I have only tried using iTunes. The iTunes bit perfect option, which changes sample rate on the fly, seems to have been deleted entirely from 3.0 beta, certainly there is no longer an opportunity to select it in settings.
As I wrote in the earlier post I may try with one of the multiplicity of other bits of software I have, most of which switch sample rate themselves iirc.
Sadly they all are tedious to set up and some interfere with each other.
I used to use Amarra and it was incompatible with Air.

The fan is moving means it is searching for your wifi router. If set properly, the signal fan should be stationary, full fan means full wifi signal strength.
aha! I will work on that next,
Air for me was the only method I used and form the beginning I suffered form various problems.
For several days I am using the new Air version and its work perfect .
For me its the highest upgrade .
It works wonderful when bit rate is change .
Now I can listen to high rez tracks .
It's alive!
I had mistakenly entered the wrong password for my network with a spelling error.

I now see my Dev in the software. Hooray! No more squeezebox touch.

Question: I am using Tidal. I have a computer system volume and a Tidal volume plus the Devialet volume control. What level do I set the computer and the Tidal volumes? Do I put them both at 100? Does it matter or limit performance?
@Mr_Bill - as a rule of thumb I usually set computer / software player volume to full and only control volume with my Devialet volume control.

With Tidal desktop app, you can use Settings -> Streaming -> Sound Output -> Devialet AIR and click on the wheel to ensure Exclusive and Forced Volume is checked to out max volume to Devialet. You will only be able to control the volume with your Devialet Remote. This is the best audio performance for Tidal desktop app. If you want to squeeze more, install Fidellzer 7.2 (Free).
