I have to admit that my enthusiasm has been short lived. Upon the suggestion of a French forum participant, I launched, from a different machine, the port scan of the D900 interface, which started to crackle just as before Sad

This just shows that the network board of the Devialet is not able to handle a reasonable level of traffic without serious trouble...

I will wait until things settle in a professional way from Devialet side and switch back to the Amethyst and its reliable interfaces Smile

Please let us know how to perform this scan. Sounds very useful

That is actually a great finding if someone's found a repeatable way to induce a problem...  This would indicate a pretty serious problem with the network interface if so.  Is this with ETH or wi-fi?

Oh well that shows that they didn't update the network board in the OdA  Angry

I hear this test used to make the D Premier crash in 2013 and require a reboot.  Confused

Well, I have never had any problems whatsoever streaming files either via AIR 2 or AIR 3 (up to 24/192) with my system. I don't understand why you would want to do a port scan? It's a hifi system - why not just play music Smile

Well, that may be the case in your system but I have never had any problems whatsoever streaming files either via AIR 2 or AIR 3 (up to 24/192) with my system. Perhaps the problem lies elsewhere in your system?

Could you try the rest though Phil? This could be interesting for all involved.

Sorry Guillaume, I was editing my post when you posted and I'm not sure what you mean? Do you mean you would like me to try a port scan?

Edit : waiting for my turn to read bedtime Harry Potter story to my son so may be a delay in doing anything Smile

I've just tried a few port scans, as intense as I could get, with the Devialet connected via ethernet, and can't induce any glitches yet Sad

Would not recommend anyone trying this Smile
IMHO this just showed me that the arguments of Devialet were not completely trustable.
Ah... I can't even play music on my Devialet using wi-fi even with the access point a few inches away. It sucks big ones.  I can fully understand it would be super-sensitive to a port scan.
I can happily use a cheap TP-Link wireless dongle, about 3cm square, in the ethernet port of the Devialet with the access point in a different room and it's flawless. The wi-fi in my Devialet is woeful.

(12-May-2016, 22:06)eag Wrote: [ -> ]Sorry GuillaumeB - but it does NOT work for all the mac-ers. I tried it again today, computer hanging, went out for a few hours, computer in black when I got back. No other software has ever caused my macbook pro to go in black like this - over and over again. Frustrated and disappointed yes. Someone here has suggested Roon in combination with Air3 to be the problem, I don’t know - all I know is that my Devialet D200 does not work in combination with my favourite piece of software (Roon) - AIR continues to malfunction for a number of users and its  really frustrating. I love everything else about the D-200 and I had almost forgotten how frustrating Air has been in the past - now I just regret I got my hopes up for a short time. Luckily USB works beautifully. Keith Jarret type of Silence is what I need now. I am happy for everyone that got Air3 to work, but it does not work for all.

Hi Eag, what are your exact settings?
Hi Blair, here are my settings: Air target device buffer: 2000ms. Roon all default I think: Use core audio mixer, Resync delay 0 ms, Use exclusive mode disabled, PCM disabled, PCM disabled.
Just wanted to share a quick follow up on my experiences with Roon/Tidal/Air3/D200. I tried the recommended settings as per this forum with latest Roon, and still fail to play with Roon/Air3. Music stops completely after a few minutes and I cannot quit air (it is hanging and impossible to force-quit). This time my mac did not shut down though. So I gave up on Roon/Air3, and tried playing directly from Tidal (also in Hifi mode) and this works faultlessly so far(!). No cracking and sounds great. It seems that I have to start using Tidal again for some time, but at least the D200 is playing music through Air although not with my favourite piece of software (Roon). Quite happy that at least Tidal/Air3 is working Big Grin This keeps me optimistic that the software engineers of Devialet will have found a proper solution for all(?) issues, including Roon, when the public version of Air3 is released.
All the best, Erlend

Its strange how wifi AIR works perfectly for some and not for others. I only have a fairly cheap Netgear router and not particularly strong signal (router about 4m away) and have no problems whatsoever. I guess I'm lucky - Perhaps you have a faulty board?
