I thought it had to do more with the fact that my OS is quite old (10.8, I think, maybe 10.7.5) than anything else. Of course, USB worked perfectly well, but on Air 2.1.3 all I got from trying DSD over Air Eth (straight from MacBook to Dev) was silence.

L, now that you mentioned it, it could be OSX issue rather than AIR. My DSD64 streaming via DoP to Le200 using Roon is successful on a Windows system. My Mac Mini is installed with the latest El Capitan OSX. And I believe AIR3.0 requires higher than 10.8 OSX.

What you're doing is wise, if it ain't broke, don't do anything. As for me, I guess I'm a habitual tweaker. Big Grin

After an hour of listening to AIR3.0, I have to admit that it is more musical, more listenable, there's a sense of smoothness that you want to listen more, with a sense of depth and a bigger soundstage. Looks like I get to keep the Mac Mini for a longer period to soak in the AIR3.0 experience. I have also written on Roon's forum and asking them if there is something amiss with RoonBridge vs Roon.

Hi HK

Which means you are running Roon server in the Mac mini without a bridge?
No, RoonServer is still on my NUC running Win10. The Mac Mini is using Roon (Mac) which has the Devialet AIR enabled as an output zone. I can then use any Remote to select songs to playback on it to Le200.

Point is if Roon is on Mac-Mini then the NUC with RoonServer is non-functional currently right?. Until MacMini becomes RoonBridge this setup continues?

No, Jnan, it is working with the above setup. Using the Mac Mini as RoonBridge will cause AIR3.0 to crack/dropout. I'm now using the 'fatter' Roon (Mac version) to act as a 'bridge' to output to Le200.

Understood. However NUC still running RoonServer which Mac-Mini running on 'Fatter/Full' Roon as one among the zone output?.

And with this set up AIR3 is stable correct? thinking to get a mac-mini old model for low cost for testing.

Yes, that's correct. Big Grin
Very confusing Huh I guess I will probably understand what you guys are talking about after I subscribe to the Roon. My MacBook Air just died and I'll need to buy the hardware first.

Don't be. It's very simple to understand once you are using Roon. Big Grin

If you go to the Roon Labs download page (https://roonlabs.com/downloads.html) and scroll down a bit, it shows the Roon products, functions they provide and platforms they run on.   It's not as confusing at it may seem.

It does seem strange that AIR3 works with Roon but not with RoonBridge.
