I had that crackling and immediately increased the delay from 500 to 1000ms and it vanished immediately.
I have target buffer set to 1000ms and no issues.  Screen saver turned off, of course.
OK, I believe I will have a chance to do an A/B comparison between AIR3.0b and AIR2.1.3. I will be using Mac Mini as a desktop and stream via AIR-WIFI to Le200. And, the RoonBridge will be using AIR2.1.3 streaming via AIR-ETH to Le200. Will update the outcome soon.

This is with AIR 2.1.3 on a Windows machine I presume?  Should be interesting.......
but one question ,do we all test and use air 3 via wifi,or do some of us use air 3 / Devialet ETH when reporting ?

i ask because i feel that best result is with air 3-via ethernet modem - to PP switch - to Devialet with cable (audioqest )
I am using AIR3 via ethernet. All three of my devices, the Sinology NAS with music files, the Mac Mini running RoonServer and AIR3 and the D400 are connected via ethernet.

I use AIR 3 with wifi which sounds better than ethernet cabling in my system Wink
I like AIR3 wifi though I have the AIR3 ethernet option.

I just think I am preconditioned to want to favour wifi because that was the original sales proposition and now it works.

With magazines largely irrelevant and poorly financed, the chance of independent blind testing on this sort of thing is zero. And the chance of that happening publicly with manufacturers or consumers is pretty slim too. And even simply with Macs and cables and routers and Devialet models the combinations run into the thousands - so opinion will probably be as fas as we ever get.

That makes a great deal of sense to me.

AIR3 seems to sound excellent. Whether it's better than e.g. Aurender or Melco will be a matter of opinion. The important thing is that it seems to work well.
any glue why Air via wifi sounds differently than Air via Ethernet ?
