Hi Phil, i can't say i really noticed when i had the unit at which points it dropped out

Hi Graeme and welcome to the free thinking world of Devialet Smile

Actually I would have thought that there should be some sort of friendly error message if there was a problem loading tracks.
What resolution are the files your playing, try the highest resolution you have as this will stress it the most
Hey Phil,
What do you mean, this thread will not be deleted then, i'm not sure i can partake in such a forum. How will i cope knowing that what i post will stay here permanently. I spoke with Paul last night about it, Bl**dy ridiculous but there you go.

Would really like to get to the bottom of these drop outs, as i've asked Paul for another loan of the Aurender before i commit to the purchase, although all your pro's and con's are valid it has a SQ i have not managed to attain elsewhere.

What do you suspect the issue is?

I have been playing 24/96 files for an hour or so and before that Tidal and have had absolutely no issues and I had none yesterday.  As I said, it may just be a coincidence but since I stopped using the lower USB port I've had no problems Wink

Re. the forum, everyone on here is very friendly - even (or maybe especially) people who have traded up from Naim systems and are now more-relaxed Wink and I don't think a thread has ever been deleted... Trolls appear occasionally but soon get fed up because they don't get much of a reaction...

[EDIT: We could start a heated discussion about whether Aurender/Chord Hugo/Vitus Audio sounds better than Aurender/Devialet if you like Wink ]
@Foxman. FYI, I'm intending to take the N100 back to Paul's either tomorrow or, more likely, monday. So I guess you will be able to borrow it again after that.

I'm sure you know that Aurender offer a remote access service and can connect to your system to analyse what's going on. They offered to do that for me but since the system was working ok and its only a demo unit I decided not to.   I'm sure they would offer you the same service.

BTW, I used USB HDD for several reasons: I thought it would be quick and easy; I would be very happy not to use a NAS as part of my hi-fi system any more; and also the Mac I use for music is running an old (and very stable) version of OS X so I couldn't use the AMM software Wink

If the N100 was the same price here as in the US rather than being £1000 more then even with the problems I would probably just buy one and take a chance that they don't recur. As we have to pay a premium then I need to think more about the best way to proceed - an N100H or N100S might be better for me.  It's a shame that the N10 has been pitched a such a high price - I saw them advertised at £7,099 in the UK - as that has 4TB internal storage plus a choice of outputs.

I was only having trouble with DSD files so I thought I would put these on a USB drive, as I only have a few albums, and play them like this but use my NAS for everything else.

I used the windows version of the AMM which works well, and really is not a problem for me.

As you say £1000 extra for us in the UK does seem excessive, but then us Brits are used to being ripped off like this, aren't we Rolleyes

Oh just to add there is no point starting a Aurender/Chord Hugo/Vitus Audio Vs Aurender/Devialet thread, as obviously the former will win Big Grin

a simple way to test this theory is to play one album in full, this way you ensure that it is fully bloaded and uffered to the SSD, then try to replay it again. if my theory is valid then you should not experince any hiccups in the replay as it will ideally be playing from the SSD

Oh, ok, that's interesting Smile  Though if that's what's causing gaps in playback in the middle of a track then it's clearly a design flaw.  What happens is that part of the way into a track there's a gap, then it plays ok for maybe a minute or so then there's another gap and another and so on and there are gaps in the following tracks too.

I hear you and to me that sounds like it is a technical problem. I recommend reporting it to Aurender

Good to see you guys here, I hope Paul has escaped from his Naim cell under-going chastisement. Dodgy

Hi Allen, i think we have all moved over to here  Wink . I spoke to Paul and he was a bit miffed about the thread being removed, as he said he was only trying to help. I'm sure if the conversation had been about Naim it would not have been deleted. Oh well, still at least this thread has been useful.

Someone has posted photos of the inside of the new N10 over on Computeraudiophile.  Nice, clean internal layout Wink

I'm not sure the spec makes lot of sense though... Whilst it's great to have a choice of outputs, why would anyone need 240Gb of cache? and I find it disappointing that they gone for 4tb internal HDD rather than SSD? Seems a strange choice when you can buy an X100L with 6 or 12Tb...
