I feel the Regen needs a good linear PSU to really shine. With the stock SMPS for me it didn't, in fact it was a deal breaker. With a linear PSU I was amazed.

See also http://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?t...4#pid22044 for more detail on my experience.

Of course it could indeed also be the Aurender is not leaving any room for improvement or any attempts deteriorate performance. Only way to know for sure is to try it I guess.
For anyone that is interested...

My N100H now have around 3-4 weeks in my system, and I think it have been broken full in, I do feel that it have been improving all the time, until around a week ago, it did take longer than normal I think.

I am happy to report that I am satisfied with my purchase, it just sounds so right, soft and relaxed but yet detailed, all is there but nothing is doing an effort to stand out, I am also satisfied about Tidal, I can’t hear any difference between local rips and Tidal the times I have compared. What the machine dose is to load the track in to memory the first seconds of the song, or if playing a playlist then at the end of the song it is playing. I know this as I can monitor the router and see when the N100H calls for data.

I have also finally removed the Regen, I like the sound better without it, I must admit that I have been a long process to come to the conclusion, there is something fascinating about the details when I add it, but I find it more real without it. On my standard PC it made a huge difference but on the Aurender I prefer the sound without the Regen.

I have also added a upgraded power cable, I found a secondhand MIT Shotgun AC1, hence all my evaluations are with this cable in the system.

Kind regards Morten

Good to read you're happy with your Aurender. I'm still very happy with mine as well.
There was an upgrade yesterday. It seems a bit more responsive:

System SW 4.3.155(5.3.155)
Released on September 24 2015

Changes from 4(5).3.130
•New: Added new mode for queue playback that will playback a single track then pause. Manually selecting the next track will resume play and pause will happen again when track is finished. To select this mode, you need Aurender Conductor V.2.2.4 or later.
•New: IP address of Aurender shown under song title on AMOLED front panel display when song in not playing
•Improved stability
•Improved audio file and cover art detection
•Improved DAC support (T+A Elektroakustik)
•Improved network connectivity under conditions where Aurender IP address may change
•Fixed: Aurender may stop playing TIDAL tracks
•Fixed: NAS folders may lose connection after power on/off
The new app has a wiki feature. Long touch an album or track, find the Wiki button on the play box and touch it. This will open a Wiki box (within the app) which will display the information found in Wikipedia. Not Roon but neat.
I am considering a music server/streamer and I am still curious which input sounds best. Any experience with an Aurender N10 (or W10) regarding which connection to a Devialet sounds best (Aes/ebu vs SPDIF vs USB). Obviously there are that variables like cables involved!
Alternatively anyone tried a N100 +/- an USB to AES/Spdif converter?
I have been told that Aurender's AES/EBU connection is the best sounding. I have no knowledge about the converter.
After experience on how SQ can be changed with Linn Akurate DS where you have DAC (as it turned out better than Devialet's ) and streamer in one package, i don't really understand how i can expect changes in SQ when using different Aurender models like X100 or W20 (very expensive Flagship) when all of those are transports connected to Devialet DAC (that by the way very average DAC in terms of SQ) .
So what im missing here ?
why spend money on expensive transport when actual noticeable increase in SQ will be generated from good DAC.

I had the S10 and just recently upgraded to the W20.  I asked both Devialet and Aurender which digital port should provide the best SQ.  They both said it depends, but typically the AES/EBU connection is the best sounding.  I bought a nice AQ Wel AES digital cable and called it a day.

The whole kluge USB signal processing for high quality audio conversion process just seems intuitively problematic, hence all the SPDIF convertors, Uptone Regen, AQ spark (?) et al.  If you have a choice, I suggest going AES/EBU.
