I did notice the Aurender app or the N100 was sluggish in use, it took a while for the app to communicate with the N100 and display the current playlist. We'll see what happens tonight after I power-cycled the N100.

Maybe that could be the key difference between the X and N series. I suppose the X series benefit from internal storage which translates into faster loading and buffering of the tracks to be played onto the SSD.

The N100 also has an SSD drive for buffering. 128GB if memory serves.

I know. What I meant is, it is maybe taking more time to stream from the NAS and load the track to be played onto the buffer SSD of the N100 versus the faster loading from the internal HDD of the X100

Ah, ok. No that wasn't the case, music was already playing, and therefore on the internal Aurender SSD.
Powercycled the Aurender and also downloaded and used the new version of AMM and added some new albums. Still slower than before, but better than yesterday evening.

Also, the new Devialet firmware 8.0 version implemented DSD over PCM v1.0 and Aurender only supports DoP v1.2.

Man! I was ready to get a D200. DSD was the only thing keeping me from buying one. I am now up to ~ 1000 DSF files.

Is Firmware 8.0 out now?

Where is the description about which version of DoP is implemented?

Thank you!

So, is DoP v1.0 only for PCM digital inputs, but not for USB, which then supports some more advanced version?
That is not clear.
Now listening to a DSD64 file played from the Aurender Smile
It looks like you can play DSD64 files after all. Good stuff.

Are you streaming them over a USB cable or else what kind of cable?
