What Android app are you using?
(20-Jan-2016, 16:03)theppd Wrote: [ -> ]Lots of Melco/Dela users in one place) Hello everyone I'm in the middle of selecting between the Melco N1A and Aurender N100 streamers. Recently had Auralic Aries LPSU version and sold it after 6 months of use. I found it's sound a bit harsh a too uninvolving so I sold it and sat on my MBP + Roon at the moment.

So right now could you please tell me which streamer sounds better? I've read many reviews including the test of the devialetchat (where it seams like the guys got the faulty Aurender) but it's still unclear. Since sometimes users report that N1A is clearly better than Aurender, and sometimes it looks like vise-versa.

Thanks and much appreciated!

It may well depend upon your present equipment and whether you can audition both at home OR a location whose acoustics with which you are familiar.

My current system consist of:
MacBook Pro Retina (AQ Diamond, Uptone Regen, AQ Diamond) ⇾ Auralic Vega (VH Audio AirSine PC, RAL Balanced IC) ⇾ Auralic Taurus Pre (FadelArt Coherence PC, Nichicon upgrade) ⇾ Focal Twin6 BE (FadelArt Coherence PC, Canare XLR IC)

Unfortunately I cannot hear either streamer at home since Russia where I live is pretty closed place for all the contemporary devices. For example, there is no way to hear anywhere or even officially buy the Melco streamers. And there is only one place where you could hear Aurender.

If you somehow got the Melco and it broke, how would you get it fixed? Dodgy  If the answer is that it would be very difficult, get the Aurender.  Wink   Are you planning on buying a Devialet?
Just thought i'd add a few thoughts to this thread. I've had my N1A just under two weeks now driving my 120 via Chord Silver Plus. I've got say out of the various ways i've got music to my 120 (S/PDIF from a Naim NDX, AIR via wired Ethernet, USB from a Mac Mini / SSD / Audivarna, / Regen combo) this easily betters them all and is probably one of the best value for money upgrades i've done. My 120 really is making some superb music with the Melco delivering the bits.

Setup was a doddle and the SMB share means i can use Carbon Copy Cloner to keep all my music synchronised from my main storage NAS across to the Melco and various USB back up drives. A couple of questions to Melco were answered quickly by Alan.

I see the price has now gone up by £150 - even so it's still a great bit of kit and i'm looking forward to spending more time rediscovering some old favourite albums.

What Android app are you using?

I'm using the Arcam app on my iPad and Bubblesoft Upnp on Android as I'm just streaming Tidal on it not sure if the Arcam works on Android though ?
Does anyone use the Vertere Acoustics Pulse D-Fi V2 USB Interconnect Cable for connecting the Melco to the Devialet and if not what USB cable do you use ?
I use the Tellerium Q blue USB. Not sure if it makes any difference to a cheaper or more expensive one. I would love to experiment with other cables but have other priorities at present

I looked at that too as it got great reviews from a variety of magazines so I think I'll keep using my Chord for the time being then pick it up when I have the money. Thanks for the reply.
Anyone have any updates on when the Melco app will be avaialble?
I have emailed Melco direct a couple of times but I have not had a reply. This is most unlike them, so maybe I have a problem with my emails.
I got my N1A in October and at the time I was led to believe they were working on the app. Surely there should be some update, or some progress.

Can anyone shed any light on this?
