Hi Tategoi,
Transformer switch does not work, since the Melco/Dela all have a switching network with AutoRanging own. Perhaps it works as well!
One would have to look in the Dela description for which voltage range the power supply is designed! Shy

With ROON now via AIR I have downloaded the 3 month trial and really like ROON, has anyone had success though with their Melco and ROON, would we still need a bridge/contact point like the SoTM units to get ROON 'seeing' the Melco to playback from?

I can't mount Melco as an external drive through ROON as it isn't been presented through the UI as an option.

New to Devialet so apologies if this has been well covered.
Managed to get ROON to mount the N1A as a network share so the entire library is now within ROON.

Last step is UPnP for direct playback via a control point app like Kinsky or Melco own if it ever appears.
I started the Roon trial assuming that the Melco would be able to run as a Roon Bridge. Of course I should've checked first, because it doesn't. I re-purposed my Cubox and got that running Roon Bridge (which was remarkably easy) and running the Roon Core on my regular desktop. It's not sounding too bad, though it'd be nice not to have to have the Cubox in the chain too.
Yes unfortunately it seems that adding roon bridge to current music server and nas features consumes to much ressources of melco core unit.
I don't understand why anyone would want/pay to run Roon with Melco. Just download the free Kazoo software from Linn, works perfectly with Melco. Come on guys are we supposed to pay $500 for metadata? Roon sounds like a good idea when you are directly feeding your DAC, the upsampling and other features inside Roon can then be taken advantage of. I am not even going to bother with the 3 month trial...with my Melco/Sms-200 setup all i need is the Kazoo software.

I do largely agree. I'm actually quite happy with Kazoo/Kinsky/Lumin though I can see why people would prefer a flashier interface. I don't really find Roon any faster either. The major speed factor for me is that on my older iPad (1GB memory) I play tracks and then surf the web looking at something else, which inevitably means IOS (the process reaper) goes and kills Kinsky/Kazoo/Lumin/Roon Remote running in the background anyway because Safari tabs take up loads of memory, so restarting the control point app usually takes a good 5-10 seconds or so, whatever the app.

I tend to power the Melco off when I'm not using it (the N1A isn't totally silent so can be a bit annoying) and as a result of startup time - usually Twonky taking a while to rescan (grr) I tend to prefer to use Lumin nowadays because it keeps an index of tracks and can play tracks virtually straight after Melco power up.
That Twonky startup scan can be avoided if you have access to the Twonky startup command, but that's not accessible on Melco and I've not managed to hack into it (yet).

Hello, all in my mind Smile

What happened to Melcos App?

Roon taking 5-10 secs to foreground seems a bit long. Mines 1-2s.

Yes just trying the three month trial, I have never used ROON before, can't say I'm super thrilled with it but just keen to see what it can do.

Right now I have Melco N1A via TQB USB to 130Pro Expert via Kinsky app, all working very well thank you.

But I am also keen to try the software ROON supplies (room correction etc) just to see if it is worth the bother.

I think for me it will be the new OS board allowing UPnP then I should be able to use the DSM player only option directly from the N1A or just use LAN via Kinsky.

That then leaves any difference, if there is any, between USB and Ethernet playback as preferred/better to the user to decide I imagine.
