Yes, it’s a negative outcome. Poorer sound.
My Pro is shipping now to have the CI upgrade but has anyone as yet tried DSM in Direct Mode, via UPnP/Ethernet, directly into the Devialet from Melco.
This in theory provides a much cleaner (network traffic/noise etc) and could be a real improvement?
The downside is not control point access via an app (as network is removed from the chain) so manual access to the library via the front panel.
I have been away from my HiFi for a few weeks so may have missed some new developments, like a Melco App mentioned down this thread. Thanks.
Ah the Melco app - I'd completely forgotten about that! The idea of picking tracks on the Melco from the front panel sounds like such a faff I've never even bothered to try it.

It is a faff, but to date (although looking to try again) I can't get any access or control point in the path to allow a control app to work.
The thing is, for me, I have quite an improvement in playback via the DSM in Direct Mode, but it is at a cost to better functionality and integration.
Hmm, I may just have to give it a try!
Hi, upnp Streaming with Melco over ethernet does not work for me, with my beloved kazoo app. The streaming works with the Arcam app, but with big cuts in the operation !!
I guess I have to search another app, or LINN makes an update of the app!

Hi, thanks, Kazoo runs excellently with Melco via USB. But with UPNP over Ethernet from Melco to Devialet, there are problems. Have already tested Mode 0, without success!
