They have been saying this for at least 3 weeks now. Just have to be patient to wait for its final release.
agree.

first they said the headless software was finalised and they were just packaging the new build, to be told afterwords that they hadnt even done the alpha testing.

i assumed that packaging means its tested and working but apparently am wrong.
To put it in perspective - think of how much they have released and the changes they have been able to make over the past three months. And better to take the extra time to ensure it is fit for release as opposed to release a product with significant issues. It will be well worth the wait.
im not saying i would like them to rush the software just to keep us happy.. i just didnt feel like their correspondence about the progress was correct.

plus i have no idea how much its changed since release.. i cant run roon on my control pc im waiting on headless to test it at all Smile
All fair points. I understand, when one is excited about something the waiting time is infinite. $15 on me if the next release does not delight ( i.e. iPad application, headless capabilities, and whatever else they might have in store ). I have made several changes to the system I had only a few months ago to incorporate Roon into my daily listening experience and it has been worth it.

At the moment, Windows 10 laptop ( screen closed - I know not quite headless ) via USB and Regen into Devialet 200. One or two systems I use as the remote to to control the Roon core on the Windows 10 laptop. Music all on a Synology NAS which is downstairs from this system.

Not my final destination but waiting for other pieces ( kit ) to arrive first.

Fortunately mine works most of the time and goes wrong occasionally, I am waiting for the Raspberry Pi headless to be released or Roon speakers for RPI will then stream to the RPI then via coax or optical to Devialet.

Mine is sounding awful straight away. I've been able to run AIR fine in the past using Audirvana (and locally stored files) and it sounded pretty good.

Isn't this to do with the fact that Exclusive Mode (in Roon) doesn't work on the Mac and AIR? Hence why people are getting PCs to run Roon?

Anyone?

Guillaume
Yes, AIR doesn't work with Exclusive mode on Mac. I sold my Mac Mini and changed to a NUC.

So does that mean that it doesn't sound good without Exclusive mode? Just trying to understand here...

Without Exclusive mode, Roon will not be able to play bitperfect to your Devialet. So, the answer is Yes, the sound will be inferior.

I don't understand, there is a way to connect MacMini strait to Devialet with USB and enjoy Exclusive mode ?

hk6230, please share if switching to NUC gave something that you didn't got with MacMini .
Thanks
