Hi, Thanks for your reply.

Although I have a large collection of CD's, they are not all in the best resolution in iTunes local library, so I use iTunes Music streaming for most of the time. iTunes Music (streaming service) is not working with Roon, so I need an additional subbscribtion for Tidal (or get rid of iTunes Music) of my streaming.

Looks like Roon + Tidal + my network is pretty stable, but for the high res streaming Devialet and Roon have some work to do...

Yes, from what I hear pretty much no-one is able to integrate with Apple Music, and it's not lossless anyway (if that matters to you, it does to me).

Are you having specific issues? Maybe post some info here or at Roon and see if anyone can help. I've not had a single glitch with Roon over USB, including DSD64 files, and haven't heard many issues over at the Roon forums, but everyone's network/setup is different.
No issues, streaming works perfectly.

As you probably know the 'Exclusive mode' is not working form an Apple macbook, so you always using the OS Audio mixer with limitations, I do think that's limiting the hi res streaming. For sure it will all work if you use a wired solution like you have (then you by-pass the audio mixer).

I learned also that Roon is a spinoff from Meridian, probably intellectual property / competition / money is that keeps Apple / Devialet and Roon busy to get high resolution streaming available for using AIR (or different protocol) in this configuration

I think exclusive mode issues are only when combined with AIR on OSX? I have exclusive mode working fine over USB. I'm not sure lack of exclusive mode on OSX with AIR would affect hires streaming, that's more likely to be an issue with the network and/or AIR?

Not a spin-off as such, as far as I understand, more the Roon developers broke free and bought out their IP, but since it was on good terms they still have a good relationship wit Meridian and obviously a good understanding of the Meridian hardware/software. Apple don't play nice with anyone usually, Devialet seem to be following their example…. I dont know much about Meridian, I used to hold them in high regard until I started following MQA….
I have just sent the following link to Devialet Support off the back of AIR unreliability, perhaps we (those who want Roon) should bombard them with the same link, they might eventually take the hint:-

And here is some simple layman's blurb on RAAT:-

Has anyone used Roon with one of those inexpensive Sonore streamers into a Devialet? What are the advantages over using a computer and USB with Roon as I have at present?
If your computer is used as Roonserver (or Core) and stay near to your Devialet, there's no reason for you to have another streamer product like Sonore in your music chain. If the new 'device' is still using USB to connect to your Devialet, I don't see it having much of an advantage over a PC. If an Auralic Aries using AES connection to Devialet, maybe there's some difference. There are some who will claim that because Sonore is built from ground up as audiophile grade hence will sound better. But I won't buy it. If one claims that Sonore has lower jitters and hence, better SQ. I still think it is BS, as our Expert system has a very good Master Clock that will remove most jitters.

I would find a device like that useful if I have another hifi setup in another location and I can stream my music to it.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I thought.
Another cheaper solution than a Sonore is a Raspberry Pi Digi+. It works as a Squeezelite endpoint with ROON. I use is with the Phantoms and the Mac with the Expert. If you have more than one system it´s a simple solution.
