That what I could read on different threads: Roon is a software which has better metadata and additional info than e.g. iTunes. Sound wise it is not better than Audirvana+ etc.. The amount of downloads I have I can manage without all the extra possibilities of Roon (at least presently). Roon is as fas as I know the only software which can integrate Tidal and I can see having better navigation and more information about music than Tidal supplies would be very positive but there is a lot of music I can not find on Tidal (and having a better UI would not change that) so I am not sure whether it makes sense for me to continue to subscribe to Tidal.
So can any of you Roon user tell me if I am missing something?

P.s.:
Using a Roon derived software (Roonspeaker) not on a computer but in a music server or something similar is different (and would likely not be part of a Roon subscription). MQA integration might change my evaluation too!

I am not sure from your post, but have you tried it?

I didn't fully understand your question about what Roon is (you seem to know from your description), but unless I'm very much mistaken, RoonSpeakers will definitely be part of the subscription.
We have all discovered Roon from the software release end. What will be interesting is when RoonSpeakers is released and hardware manufacturers start offering it, what people will think when they have to then go and purchase a Roon sub if they want to use it on that hardware. Unless of course, the hardware manufacturers decide to subsidise the Roon subscription cost, which could be pretty unlikely.

No I have not tried it. The reason for the post to figure out if I should spend the time to play with Roon considering my problems with Tidal.  Because of the limited music selection and with added problem of inconsistent internet I am not using Tidal a lot and may discontinue it. So does it make sense to have Roon without Tidal or something equivalent?

Well, it has a 14 day trial. If you have time, I urge you to try it.

Roon buffered Tidal music by at least 10 seconds, and it allows me to play Tidal music smoothly in China, even though Tidal is currently not supported in China yet. I do recommend you to give it a try.
Hi, I have been reading this tread now, but to understand this better, how have you guys connected the Devialet to the Roon software. Is is Mac/pc trough AIR(ethernet cable/wifi) or is it Mac/pc directly to Devialet via Usb?
AIR or USB, doesn't matter. Both work. It's all up to your preference.
Roon server from Elac.

Yeah I skimmed the post and immediately wondered how it would sound and how complicated getting it paired with a NAS would be. Unfortunately, I didn't see it listed at their web site http://www.elac.com/en/products/.
