What I suspect causing this is I started a P2P downloader program using up all the bandwidth of the internet at 7MB/s. Before long, white noise appeared. No more test for today. Tomorrow I will try once more.

Sorry to hear that mate!
Never say AIR is working btw. I've done that several times and got the noise kicking in several hours later.

So I'll say now: AIR is NOT working for me for 1.8 days nonstop! [fingers crossed]   Tongue
I´ve installed ROON Bridge on my RPi Digi+, which is connected by an optical cable with my Phantoms.

ROON Server is installed on my MacBook, which is connected to my D120.

No problems so far and I can group both systems with ROON.

Sadly, the music isn´t synced. The D120 is a little bit faster, than the Phantoms. I had the same issue before with SONOS and Apple AirPlay.

Has anybody an idea, how to solve the sync problem ?
And now RoonServer on my Synology NAS, thanks to the member who posted the link to the details on the Roon Forums. It is now importing my music collection on the NAS.....

Impressive work baddog!  If I may ask, what spec is your Synology, and how well is it running Roon, reasonably responsive etc?
@Confused - well fortunately the fellow posted really good directions and other than not able to get the install to import my existing Roon database ( who knows might be my fault ) it has worked really well so far, better than I thought. Obviously performance on initial import is not quite the same as on my i7 Quad Core Mac Mini, but performance is pretty snappy on my Macbook Roon remote, and iPad Mini.

Mine is an older Synology unit. 1812+, thus it has 3 GBs memory, and an Intel ATOM2700 CPU with 2 cores.

Responsive yes, I had low hopes but this is not bad at all, certainly fully serviceable. In fact it is fine.

Last two days were my FINAL Devialet AIR experiments, so this is my current one.
p.s. my Roon music library is 2577 albums, 31,881 tracks, and about 200 Tidal albums. DSD, High Res and Redbook.
but is this Synology scenario still utilize AIR to pass music to Devialet (via ethernet) ?
or it uses USB ?
Can it use both Ethernet and USB ?

No Air driver for Linux.  They would use usb or Roonbridge on another device.
Correct, running RoonServer on the Synology NAS, and have RoonBridge running on Mac Mini at the moment connected via USB to D400.

I could in theory use RoonBridge on a Windows system and send output via AIR but while that was fun yesterday, today's testing with AIR and a steady diet of DSD material ended in "white noise" after a few hours.
