You are absolutely correct Antoine! I meant to say it is not "just" a player.

Great Roon review on Audiostream.com:

Hi all,

I'm using a MacMini for Core Library management, the music being stored on a Synology NAS. The Mac is connected to my D120 thru RJ45 (Ethernet), just like the Synology.
I configured Roon with the default system output, fixing just the output level (100%) vwhile AIR's default playback rates are 24 bits and 96kHz.

I tested my configuration with iTunes and AIR both over Ethernet and Wi-Fi without any issue.

However, when playing from Roon, on several occasions I'm hearing cracking sounds just like on a turntable (sic). I tried both Ethernet and Wi-Fi AIR with the same "vintage" results.

Is it a known issue? Any chance it could be solved so I can take a lifetime commitment?

Best regards,

Arnaud

PS: My MacMini is end of 2009 with 2Gb of RAM and 160Gb SATA drive (not SSD).

And I just did Wink

I was just wondering if any one on the Devialetchat forum experienced a similar "cracking" (some may say jitter) effect while using Roon with AIR.

Best regards,

Arnaud

Devialets Air implementation for a lack of better words is a "piece of crap", I could never get it to work all and many have other issues with it.  That said roon still has some audio device driver issues they need to work out.  Unfortunately they don't have a Devialet for testing.

To be honest, I'm having quite a smooth playback using AIR from my Win8.1 Tablet (Roon Remote) streaming to my D200. I'm still having a bit of issue with the latest build 30 in running Tidal, other than that Roon is running well and I have ditched all other music playback software like Audirvana+, JRiver, etc.

The experience I have with Roon is simply great and I had signed up lifetime within a couple of days on trial.
Finaly I got some time to test Roon, I can't manage to
stream through AIR bit perfect like it happens when streaming from iTunes library.
its only possible on USB or I missing something ?

Are you using Mac? If yes, then AIR on Exclusive mode is not working. You can use a PC as remote to stream AIR on exclusive and event driven mode.

Im using my iMac that located in my office room (not near Devialet) my question is regarding BitPerfect stream, i did managed to stream through AIR (i hear by the way some clicks and other noise, not good at all, maybe will be solved if ill connect mac with USB to Devialet) but the stream is not bitPerfect for example 24bit 192Kz converted to 16 bit 44.1 .
