A bargain!  But how do you haggle with a website??  Maybe you would rather not say, but how did you get this deal?
Lucked out i guess. Trust me, hardware design is one complicate aspect of it and software is also equally complicated aspect too. Like no use of a gun without a bullet. or no use of a computer without a "GOOD" software. we can get machine level language or bland looking s/w. But I m sold out for Roon quality, user experience and fluidic speed. Hope they hold it as long as they promise to service.

Good luck to all!

By my suggestion to negotiate with a particular person, I guess. Big Grin

Jnan, you've got a good deal, or you must be a great bargainer. Great to have you on Roon and we can share more notes in the future.
Roon is desperate to win Devialet crowd too. Why? Our Le120,200,400 ... Has on board computer. Now if only Devialet sends replacement for (with some cost) computer board with good processor RAM memory- Roon can be directly loaded onto Devialet system. Long shot ? Yes but it's doable. Remove Arm base core with Intel base core optimized for Devialet.

If only Devialet can send a sample system for testing.
I think it is more like "Devialet is desperate to avoid 'interference'". If Devialet decide to work with Roon to create a RAAT endpoint inside the Expert amps (if this is at all possible) it will be good - apart from the fact that Devialet probably would be exposed as rather hopeless at writing code. And Roon would be the heroes for fixing AIR/RAAT. Good for us, bad for Devialet's reputation - which is quite tainted already in my view.

Is there an ARM-based processor in the Expert series?  I thought all the CPUs were AD SHARC...  (Phantom is different, I believe, based on an i.MX 6.)  Anyway, surely they are already "optimised for Devialet" by virtue of the fact that Devialet designed them into the system in the first place.  Optimised for Roon, though, is obviously a different matter - perhaps that's what you meant?

Its ARM processor. It does not matter optimized for Roon or Devialet but have minimum requrement. if it suits Roon thats fine. but i would drop this topic here as i m too shy having discussion on this topic as this is way too long shot ! Tongue

Doable, based on what? You do realize the DUET interface card is only about 8x11,5 cm's big? Picture here: http://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?t...3#pid32373
