@misterpete - to your question, the answer is if you go into Audio settings in Roon you would see Devialet AIR and would need to enable it. As I am doing this on a Mac, as opposed to a Windows system, I cannot verify that the verbiage is exactly the same, Gary or someone else using Windows AIR could tell you that.

Have you enabled ethernet on the Devialet, and do you have an ethernet cable attached to it?

Quote:Ah yes, thanks for that. I thought perhaps I could use the Ethernet option. I have set up Air on the NUC and it initially sees the Ethernet but it is always set to streaming disabled. If somehow I did manage to get Air working what would show up in the Roon audio zone?

It works perfectly, everything is connected by Ethernet but having read some of the posts here am I right in thinking that I can bypass the Aries and stream directly to the D200?
If this is the case could somebody possibly give some tips to get it going. When I check audio zones I can see the Aries which I use, but in the box above it mentions core output "wasapi" but I can't see any mention of Devialet. What am I missing here. Many thanks.

First, make sure Devialet AIR driver is installed on your NUC. You can download the driver from en.devialet.com/configurator, after you have logged on.

Once AIR driver installed on your NUC, your Roon will show Devialet AIR as one of the audio output. For best SQ, enable Exclusive and Event driven mode. Set DSD to DSD over PCM.

As for the Devialet AIR setting on your Windows, click on the 'eyedrop' logo and click setting. If you are using AIR-Ethernet, click on it and on the right you can select the method to connect to AIR: 1) Never stream automatically to it; 2) stream to it if not already streaming; and 3) always stream to it automatically. To make the selection permanent, after selected, exit Devialet AIR, and restart AIR (this is a known AIR setting bug).

What is the BKM to choose which one is right ?. Now that AIR3-ETH/WIFI works nicely for me, can i choose, lets say "3" above ?
What do you use ?
what about others ?
I use always stream to it automatically.

Never had any issues with that setting ( AIR3 Beta ).

Many thanks for that, I will try those settings later. Your help is much appreciated.

If you are too lazy to always click on the 'eyedrop' to enable AIR, just use option 3. Big Grin This way, whenever your Devialet is power on and your PC/Mac will automatically enabling AIR to connect to your Devialet.

I used option 3 for my RoonBridge/AIR option.
Thanks both @baddog and @hk.

I don't see the 3 options. Only available in Windows?

Thanks HK.

I am now hooked on Roon/Tidal combination, I now have millions of tracks at my disposal, I will most likely continue after the trial. However, I am not satisfied with the SQ as I find the noise floor is very high compared to playing from a CD transport. Looking at your signature, your NUC is running the RoonServer and MM is running the RoonBridge and AIR3b. Does this combination yield a better SQ? I am thinking of buying a Mac Mini (rumored after WWDC?) to run as core, and using the iMac as a RoonBridge, controlled via the iPad.
